it ain't the Nou Camp either, nor the Ethiad. Not even the Kassam Stadium (*).
So there were air shots, mishits, misplaced passes, scuffed shots dragged horribly wide, wrong foot shots, goals scored that were bundled in, open goals missed etc, oh and an own goal (**), i.e. it wasn't perfect. In fact was a long way from perfect. (***)
But by Christ we worked hard, epitomised by the midfield all action triumvirate of Andy, Tom and Ilyas. So we all celebrated long and hard (but not like at the Kassam) when Ilyas tucked away the equaliser for 3-all towards the end of the game.
(*) An enthusiastic Newcastle supporter (reports do not confirm whether it was Eddie or John) got so excited by his side finally vanquishing the mighty Oxford that he got his old chap out.
(**) in fact a "perfect hat-trick own goal" quote Tom implying that it involved both feet and head at the same time, which it kind of did - and a bit of hand too, for that matter. Can't remember who scored it. What a loser!
(***) Saying all that, Chris did score a really nice solo goal, after Charlie played him in.
