BoC F.C. 3 vs 5 Battersea Alexandra

Well, Charlie had a £8 sausage roll in the Duke and Tom’s comment was just too good a headline to not use.

Alternatives were:

It was all the ringers fault (*)

Even for a team that starts badly, this was going some. We conceded without touching the ball, then looked at each other confused, repeating the trick by standing around like statues and letting the oppo waltz through us at will on 3, 9, 16 and 21 minutes. 0-5 and it was slightly surprising when we managed to hang on for a whole 9 minutes more until halftime without conceding any more.

Tactical re-think at half time, moving ringer Juan up the pitch a bit, with Rich out on the pitch (first centre forward, then centre half) and Ilyas in goal.

We got stuck into them a lot more, Chris with a header from a George corner, then 2 long range screamers from George gave us at least a bit of respectability.

Fun fact: all 8 goals in the same end.

Must start better next week.

(*) But that would all have been a massive lie of course. Ringer Juan played very well.
