BoC F.C. 4 vs 3 Broomwood FC

Bit of a chaotic start with a couple of ringers, ever reliable Conrad and speedster winger Lamar helping us out, but they are left off the stats for simplicity and were replaced by Fosters World Cup stars Tony and Ponting.

We somehow started without any ringers and with only 9 we were 0-1 pretty much straight away.

Scored a couple, nice finish from Rich B, crept in at the post as keeper stretched for it; excellent shot from Chris in off the crossbar.

Oppo scored again - we were defending like Sunderland; Ben fluked in a cross; oppo old fella up front - who was a pretty decent player - left 3 of us for dead to score. 3 all at the break and it was hard work on a muggy night.

The second half was much cagier. Tony with a good goal towards the end after good team build up.

New oppo - older guys in green and black stripes who play against Harretons - they play some decent stuff and like to get stuck in. There were some full-blooded block tackles. They even lent us a ref, who perhaps it is kindest to say might be due a trip to Spec Savers and might also be advised to try to keep up with play a bit better.

And a welcome back for Flip who had a good battle with his opposing full back on the left wing.
