BBOB started strongly, new signing Matthew Jones (Jonah) having the first shot on goal in the first minute following a run by Joe down the left. Diversity counter attacked with breaks down both sides of the pitch, Jonah was playing well in the middle of the park with tackles and clearances. In the 8th minute Jac did one of his dribble runs down the left, where he was linking well with Dan, he hit a firce shot but it went high and wide of the goal. Two minutes later and Diversity were attacking again, Fletch cleared the ball upfield where it was put out of play by Diversity. Jonah crossed the ball into the Diversity area from the throw-in, but BBOB could not get a touch on the ball. In the 14th minute James made a run through the middle of the park, he was tackled just inside the area and while BBOB thought they should get a penalty, H managed to score his first goal of this campaign. Diversity continued to pressure the BBOB defence, Paul cleared the ball for a corner from a Diversity cross from the and two minutes later put the ball out for another corner following a Diversity free kick just inside our area, with H heading the ball away from the resultant corner. In the 20th minute Diversity scored their first goal hitting the ball from about 10 yards outside the penalty area. They continued to attack and Hal managed to push a shot over the cross bar to deny Diversity another goal in the 22nd minute, two minutes later and Jac, from another of his runs down the left, had his shot parried away by their keeper and cleared upfield, where Fletch managed the clear the ball upfield to Joe who had a shot at goal that just went wide. Once again Diversity attacked down their right and their pass into the area was cleared away by Mike for a corner. From the corner Jac crossed the ball from the left across field to James, he lost the ball and from the counter attack Diversity scored their second goal in the 28th minute from a cross from the left. Diversity had a sustained spell of pressure on the BBOB defence, Hal saved one shot and both Mike and Paul made good clearances. BBOB soaked up the pressure and managed the break down the right, Jac crossed the ball into the box to Joe who had his shot saved by their keeper, a minute later and Jac passed the ball down the left to James who dribbled the ball past a couple of the Diversity players, hit a shot low to the near post but bit was saved by their keeper. H was played through the middle by a good ball from Jonah, he hit a shot on goal but again the Diversity keeper saved it. Diversity were quick to attack and scored in the 35th minute only for it to be disallowed for offside. Jac and Dan were combining well down out left flank, with Dan making a run into their boxed where he was dispossessed by one of their defenders. Jac crossed the ball into their area, the keeper cleared the ball but only as far as James who tried to lob keeper but hit the ball over the bar. Just on the stroke of half time Jonah made a break through the middle of the park, the ball found Dan who blasted the ball into the right-hand corner of the net, 2-2 at half time. Diversity attacked the BBOB straight from the kick off forcing Hal into another save, but BBOB were also pressurising the Diversity defence, James running down the left, crossing the ball to Jac, resulting in a shot that the goalie pushed over the bar. A long ball out of the Diversity defence in the 51st minute saw them break through the middle of the park, hit a shot from just outside the area for them to score their third goal. BBOB weren’t going to be out done, with Jac on another of his tantalising runs down the left crossed the ball which found Ben in the middle, he fired a shot on goal which was put out by their keeper for a corner, this was taken by Dan, he played it into the area, where James’s header just went over the cross bar. In the 56th minute Diversity cleared the ball upfield to their right, the ball was played into the area where one of their attackers hit the ball low just inside the post for their 4th goal. Immediately after this Steve, manager, made tactical substitutions, Joe, Ben and H making way for Jamie, and new players Will Maskell and Jack Gustard. Diversity had a lucky break down the middle of the park, their attacker hit the ball which took a deflection of Mike for them to score their 5th goal in the 59th minute. Five minutes later and Hal made two fine saves in succession withy Mike finally putting the ball away for a corner. But two minutes later and Diversity scored the 6th goal with firce shot that Hal could not get to. BBOB did not give up and continued to pressurise the Diversity defence, a long ball was played through to James but the keeper was quick off his line and cleared the ball before James could reach it. In the 73rd minute Dan dribbled the ball past a couple of defenders on our right, played a short ball into James who shot the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal for our 3rd goal. Hal made another couple of good saves to deny Diversity increasing their lead but in the 83 minute a Diversity player fired a shot which hit the bottom of the post, and rolled along the goal line, Hal dived back across the goal to try and retrieve the ball but bounced of his back and into the goal for a very lucky 7th goal for Diversity. Still BBOB continued to attack with James just firing wide of the goal after a good through ball by Jonah. This was followed by Jonah taking a free kick that just went to the left of the goal, Dan being dispossessed after a fine run down our right and a good pass from Jac out on the left into the middle for Jack. Diversity counter attacked from the clearance but Hal was quick off his line to deny the attacker a shot. The game ended 7-3 to Diversity, which flattered them a bit.
