Home league match played on 24 September 2016.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

Romans had much of the early play; in the 3rd minute they had a shot on goal which went wide of the left post. Maro responded with a run down the left and his shot went just wide. In the 7th minute Romans won a corner, their shot on goal was cleared away by Dan Buchanan, a minute later Romans won another corner, Paul Barton tried to clear their shot but it forced over the line by their forward.

BBOB were now starting to fight their way back in the game, Maro had another run down the left, he crossed the ball to Scott but his shot was off target. Some good play in the 22nd minute between Maro, Jaq and Scott through the midfield was eventually stopped by the Romans defence. A minute later BBOB had a corner on the left, the ball fell to Titch who blasted it over the bar, shortly after Scott went off injured and was replaced by Luke.

In the 25th minute Romans had a break through the middle, their shot from outside the penalty area could not be stopped by Mike in goal and they went into a 2-0 advantage. Romans had another chance from a free kick but fortunately they headed wide of the goal. BBOB continued to put pressure on the Romans defence, a throw in from Jaq resulted in some good play through the middle. Just before half time Romans again broke down the left, their shot on goal was pushed over the cross bar by Mike and Romans went into the second half 2-0 up.

At half time Paul was replaced by Joe Howard and Steve reorganised the defence, right from the kick off BBOB attacked the Romans defence. In the 50th minute BBOB won a free on the right just outside the penalty area, Jaq hit a ferrous shot that was caught by the Romans goalie. Two minutes later Romans took a well worked free kick on the left just outside the BBOB penalty area, the ball was played through to their number 14 who had a tame shot on goal which was collected by Mike. In the 54th minute BBOB made their final substitution, Titch being replaced by Joe Marshall. Just after this Romans number 14 made a solo break down their left, from which they won a corner, their shot on goal sailed over the crossbar.

BBOB continued to pile on the pressure, were having most of the play and were by far the better team, in the 60th minute Jaq’s shot on goal was deflected wide by their defender for a corner but we could not convert it into a goal. Five minutes later Maro picked up the ball, passed it to Joe Marshall on the right who passed to H in front of goal, unfortunately he miss kick and the chance went. Jaq was getting more involved in the play; he passed the ball to Dan B whose shot was saved by the goalie. In the 70th minute H took a quick free kick just inside the Romans half, he passed to Maro who passed to Dan B who passed it to Joe Howard on the right but the shot was hit off target. A few minutes later Romans took a quick throw in on the right, the ball was played to one of their players who hit the ball over the cross bar, one of their few attacks on the BBOB goal in the second half. A minute later Jaq was brought down on the edge of their penalty area, he took the free kick but his shot was well over the crossbar. A few minutes later Tom won the ball just inside our half he passed the ball to Jaq who shot on goal but it just went wide. A minute later Tom was involved again, he collected the ball from a throw in, made a solo break down our right and into the middle and shot from just outside their penalty area. In the 86 minute Joe was brought down in their penalty area, the appeals for a penalty were waved away by the referee.

In the 90 minute H was dispossessed from the ball, their forward had a shot on goal which went in off the post, 3-0 to Romans. A minute into stoppage time Romans broke down the left and hit a shot over the bar.

The match ended 3-0 to Romans but on overall play BBOB was by far the better team and how we did not score and come away with something from the game is unbelievable.
