Away league match played on 16 February 2014.
Kicked off at 3:00 PM

For the 1st time in their history Brighouse Sports Ladies were involved in a double header against Brayton Belles. Due to the bad weather over the last couple of months and Brighouse's involvement in the county cup and league cup, they had fallen way behind in their fixtures .So the League instructed them to play two double headers, starting with Brayton, and then in two weeks against Silsden

GAME 1 BRAYTON BELLES 1-3 BRIGHOUSE SPORTS

After EIGHT weeks without a game Brighouse were desperate to get back into action, and continue their 100% league record, and despite been very rusty, they started well, and took the lead after three minutes , when Lauren Doyles pass found Sarah Hemingway who finished in style firing an unstoppable shot with her left foot into the top corner. Minutes la Hemingway had another long range effort well saved by the Belles keeper. But Brighouse were showing signs of lack of match practice, and the Belles were much sharper in the early exchanges and Brighouse keeper Linzi Scarfe made two full stretch saves to keep the lead intact. Slowly Brighouse regained control. with new signing Debbie Tomlinson looking assured at the back. But in the first minute of the second half, Brighouse were pegged back a half cleared ball was hit back in hope and it sailed over Scarfe into the net for a fortunate equaliser. This setback seemed to spurred Brighouse on, and Hemingway set up Leanne Smith who hit the post, but shortly after they regained the lead, Smiths perfect through ball found sub Nessy Holroyd who finished superbly with a first time shot across the keeper into the bottom corner. Five minutes later Brighouse took complete control of the game as a penalty was awarded for handball and Smith despatched the spot kick with ease. Brighouse could of extended their lead wit Nessy Holroyd and Hemingway both having decent efforts saved by the Brayton keeper.

Game 2 Brighouse Sports 2-1 Brayton Belles

After a half hour break, both teams returned to battle. Brighouse once again started strongly and some great interplay between Charlotte Reid, Lauren Doyle and Sarah Hemingway saw Reid play a perfect through ball to Leanne Smith who was unceremoniously upended in the box, but she dusted herself down, and calmly slotted home the spot kick to give them the lead. But as in the first game Brayton came back strongly and had two or three good chances to get back into the game, most noticeably when a great strike from 20 yards cannoned back from the underside of the bar. Brighouse were under the cosh, and their lack of match time showing, but they dug deep and with seven minutes left ,new signing Olivia Dangerfield sent Emily Holroyd clear down the left, Holroyd bamboozled two defenders before rolling the ball across the goal for Smith to tap home and give Brighouse a bit of breathing space, which they needed as in the dyeing moments they failed to clear on a couple of occasions and Alex Sweeneys desperate challenge was adjudged to have taken place in the area, and the Brayton striker fired past Scarfe to set up a nervy last couple of minutes. But Brighouse held out comfortably to make it six out of six wins in the league. On sunday Brighouse entertain league leaders Farsley Celtic in the league cup1/4 final
