On Sunday 14 September 2025, Buitenvelder Jo17-2 hosted WV-HEDW JO17-1 at Sportpark Buitenveldert in an early morning kick-off at 9:15am. The 80-minute league encounter ended in a pulsating 3-3 draw, with both sides sharing the spoils after a rollercoaster of goals and drama.
Buitenvelder lined up in a 4-2-1-3 formation, deploying a balanced approach designed to blend defensive solidity with attacking flair. Jonas Baltazar took his place between the sticks as goalkeeper, while the back four consisted of Mahir Basbug at right back, Aleks Malysz and Vittorio Lancieri as central defenders, and Mustafa Kucukcolak on the left flank. The double pivot in midfield featured Sebastian van Nimwegen and Mick Lilian tasked with both breaking up play and initiating attacks. Ahead of them, Shay Grinpress operated as the attacking midfielder, linking midfield and attack. The forward line was spearheaded by Miska Van den Toorn as the central striker, flanked by Ander Bergareche on the right and Sam Silva on the left. The substitutes available to the home side were Lucas Pethick Norman, Malik Ali, Martin Bruyer, and Ronan Parker.
The match burst into life with Buitenvelder taking the lead in the 21st minute. Shay Grinpress delivered a precise short pass inside the box to Ander Bergareche, who expertly finished with his left foot, giving the hosts an early advantage. However, WV-HEDW responded swiftly with a stunning long-range strike from outside the box in the 31st minute, expertly struck with the right foot, which left Baltazar with no chance.
Just four minutes later, the visitors doubled their lead through a close-range header, capitalising on a well-placed cross into the box. The goal, scored with a powerful header, put WV-HEDW 2-1 up heading towards half time. The first half concluded at the 40-minute mark with Buitenvelder trailing but still very much in the contest.
Early in the second half, an unfortunate injury forced a substitution for Buitenvelder. At the 35th minute mark, Ronan Parker was replaced by Mustafa Kucukcolak, who took over the left defender role. This change proved pivotal as Kucukcolak soon made a significant impact.
Buitenvelder equalised in the 66th minute when Kucukcolak lobbed the ball over the goalkeeper following a long pass from Mick Lilian. The goal, struck with his right foot, showcased his composure and technical ability, reigniting the home side’s hopes.
Just seven minutes later, Vittorio Lancieri rose to the occasion during a frantic goalmouth scramble, nodding the ball home from close range. His headed effort restored the lead for Buitenvelder and demonstrated his aerial prowess and determination in defence and attack.
However, WV-HEDW were not finished. In the 79th minute, they found an equaliser with a composed finish inside the box using the right foot, making it 3-3 and setting up a tense finale.
Both Vittorio Lancieri and Mustafa Kucukcolak were standout performers for Buitenvelder, each contributing crucial goals and defensive stability throughout the match. The referee’s performance was notably poor, rated just 20, but the players ensured the game’s quality shone through despite this.
In front of a modest crowd of four spectators, the match delivered an entertaining and competitive spectacle, with both teams demonstrating attacking intent and resilience. The 3-3 draw reflected the evenly matched nature of the contest and left both sides with plenty to build on in the league campaign ahead.
