Away league match played on 17 November 2012.
Kicked off at 2:15 PM

this was one of only a few survivors of the drizzle from friday night and both sides were up for it.

Imps coming off  5 defete's in a row were determined to give 100%, the last time the sides met imps recorded there first win of the season beating the ship 3-1 so the home side were looking for a bit of revenge.

Imps started the brighter and put on all the pressure in the first 15 mins and after a couple of half chances the ball was placed out wide for Darryl to latch onto and he then took on 3 players to get into the 6 yard box and put it past the keeper with a delightfull chip, 1-0 imps much deserved.

The Ship clearly worried made whole sale changes and even made a sub in the first half hour not to the amusement of the ship left back!

Simon Arscot in goal made some good saves finaly coming off his line, Logan & Mitch both made amazing blocks to keep out the ship BUT..... just before half time some good work down the right saw a deep cross and who else but Gwyn 'blooming' Good (the smallest man in europe) to nod home at a tight angle.

1-1 at half time but could have been better for the imps with a late shot from Harvey went high and wide and ash hitting the bar.

The HT team talk was great for the imps and for once it was positive and the team spirit was back amoungst the players and management. the tactics were simple keep positive and punish the weaknesses at the back and thats what the Imps did.

some good play from Mark Lewis & Ryan Pike down the left were causing the ship problems and Ashley up top was playing really well but unable to get a goal he deserved, then it was again the Darryl show with a break down the right he took on another 3 players plus the GK to smash home and put imps 2-1 up!

The home side were furious but Imps delighted and made a possitive sub bringing on Bish to rest the legs of Harvey who put it all in for the team!

Ship in fairness did have a lot of possesion in the midfield but were not creating the clear cut chances they were hoping for,

With 15 mins left on the clock they did make the break through with a long ball that creapt over the head of Logan and simon nearly got the save but it broke for the striker who equalised!

Imps though still had chances to win it at the death with Darryl on for the hatrick done the same but struck the bar, as it came out Nick Williams had a long range effort that went wide of the post.

Mark then broke down the left and had a shot parried, Darryl then through again had his shot cleared and came for the sub Adam Edwards making his first apperance for the new Imps who had a clear shot at goal but found the train tracks on cadoxton train station (yes it was that high) even though 3 Imps forwards were screaming for the ball at the far post.

then last min Mark was put threw but was tripped on the edge of the box and the resulting free kick was smashed into the wall.

it was a brilliant end to end game and both sides played there part. imps now exited about getting themselves out of the relegation zone, but with the dockers having 6 games in hand could it last??

Imps would like to thank there sponser www.cardiffappliancewarehouse.co.uk for there fantastic support throughout the season!

Imps now look forward to taking on The Borough this saturday and will be looking for revenge themselves after there opening day defete, but with the game scheduled at the butts they might have too look forward to a deserved week off!
