Away league match played on 12 October 2014.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

Another good day for footy, though we had to venture up into BMP territory.

Danny Matthews made his first appearance of the season, but Bjorn was an early morning no show. Therefore

we only had 11, and I knew my hamstring was not up to it. I worried we wouldn;t have enough to give a

good account of ourselves.

From the whistle we were sharper than usual, there seemed to be lots of room in midfield when we were on the ball, Ricky and Aidan both getting lots of the ball, and Me and Dave being able to run into acres of space when we got on the ball. We looked dangerous within minutes, and we used the width well, somthing we haven't always done effectively.

It took about 10 minutes for us to break the deadlock, Aidan had been watching some classic Beckham an put in one of his best performances yet and would have been MOM if Joe hadn't put in his best performance yet. Aidan picked up the ball on the right, after some nice passing on the deck, he looped a great curled cross into the 6 yard box and Joe leapt like a 16 stone salmon and headed it into the net under pressure. Only a matter of minutes later we found ourselves in an identical situation, and again Aidan delivered a quality cross which picked joe out at the back post, he headed/placed it back across goal into the far corner.

Dave who was overlapping all day and ran his socks off, took a throw deep in their half, Joe took it into the box and curled a great finish in the far corner.

They had a couple of chances but Craig was equal to the 3 shots they had on target, however one hopeful pump up field caught us. Bowmar and Pietro had won all headers up to this point, but a lack of communication saw Pietro getting in front of Bowmar to head a ball that wasn't his to head, he flicked it on to their forward who only just managed to capitalise on it.

Some of the best football we have played happened in the 1st half, with great 1 touch passes in triangles and great probing passes down the channels. from the back to the edge of their box with 5/6 quick well chosen passes. about 30 minutes in Don found himself in the box on the left with an assist from Joe, he placed t with his left across the keeper rolling it into the corner.

Just before half time a corner came in from Aidan, Farnie headed against the crossbar, it fell to Dave Staiano who went to ground and swung a leg at the ball and it found its way into the net.

half time

We knew we had to put the game to bed and that 5 goals is not enough to relax at this level. Obviously they raised their game in the second half but we were not as incisive. Admittedly Danny got cramp, and I pulled my hamstring even more just after half time.

We still had to work for it, but luckily we did a decent job. Farnie was winning headers in the middle and we still managed to carve lots of attacking chanes, Joe hitting the post with a 30 yard effort, and the crossbar with a header from my corner. Aidan had a lot of shots that were blocked or went over, Ricky did some good runs and passes as well as closing down his man well.

Don was coming short to play well worked 1-2's and got stuck in physically too. Bowmar was solid at the back and was another contender for man of the match.

Unfortunately another error by Pietro who was regretting his night of debachery on Saturday night, saw him jump over a ball and allowing it to go through to their man. He chipped Craig but it hit the post, Craig couldn't get to it and their man followed up and slotted home. a shame.

But this was a great win. well done boys the way we played today his how we should play.
