A classic playground story of "we will just score more than the other team" saw CCK come out with a deserved victory this afternoon.

The game started in typical fashion, Electricity with some good touches and neat passing but within the first 5 minutes the tide turned with CCK cutting out all of electricty play, with strong headers and tackles across the pitch particularly from Tucker, Spence, Reid & player manager Rose who looked like he was a man driven to win the midfield battle. From this CCK had a good base on which to let their attacking players do what they do best. The break through came in the 20th minute when some good CCK passing found the feet of their talisman Morrison who broke forward slipping a ball into Wriglesworth who ran through finishing with aplomb. 1-0 deserved. The second came within the next 10 minutes, some good all round play from the CCK midfield, the ball came out left to Rumble who whipped a ball into the middle which bounced around before falling perfectly to Charlie Jones who placed the ball underneath the onrushing keeper. The linesmans flag instantly went up which halted the cck celebrations momentarily before the ref over-ruled saying he was clearly onside, 2-0 CCK.

The Electricity players remonstrated with the referee to the point that they asked to change the linesman which was greeted by the referee asking the manager and captain to shut their team up. The game then changed from football to basketball as Electricity had what can only be described as a time out/mothers meeting allowing the management to explain the offside rule to their herd of players.

The game then kicked off with Electricity driving on with real purpose forcing Fortescue to make some decent saves. CCK were then caught napping when the Electricity midfield player clipped a ball over the back four into Marlon Nyani who strode through and swept the ball into the far corner of the goal. 2-1 half time.

The second half started with both sides looking determined to win the game with chances coming a both ends. It was Electricity who took there chances scoring in the 56th (Campana) and 63rd minute (O'Reagen). This left CCK plenty of time to draw level and with Morrison playing like only we know he can CCK looked likely to do so.

Morrison found himself in the opposition box & nicked the ball from the struggling Electricity player before pulling it back for Charlie Jones to shoot, who instead held the ball before seeing Rose just inside the edge of the box screaming to be set up, charlie duly obliged with a delightfully weighted pass for Rose who, showing perfect technique drove through the ball smashing it past the diving keeper into the top corner of the goal. The celebration saw Rose peeling away from the onrushing team before collapsing into a bundle in front of the cck supporters! CCK pulled level 3-3 with 15 still to play. A free kick was awarded to CCK's surprise on the right side of the pitch, Spence struck it towards the Electricity box, who failed to clear, allowing Rose, again on the edge of the box to play a neat pass to the recently introduced substitute Mark Edwards who flicked a through ball between the Electricity centre halves for Nathan Wriglesworth to place a delicious side foot shot past the stretching keeper and in off the far post! The comeback was complete, 4-3 CCK. With only 5 minutes left to play the team held strong to see out their first win over Electricty in the clubs history.

TalkSport managed to catch up with a jubilant CCK manager who said he was "delighted to finally beat a team who embarrassed us earlier in the season, having seen 3 top players sidelined for different reasons before the game I was very pleased with how our squad coped against a quality side like Electricity" he went on to praise the replacements "quality shone through this afternoon with all the boys stepping in showing what they are capable of, particularly Nate dog who battled hard all game and found himself on the score sheet, even Charlie scored!" Full back Doug Reid talking to Sky Sports said "Electricty simply lost their spark!, the ref was a big turn off for them and they lost their heads towards the end, we showed our class with Rosie firing one off from the ashes to rise like a phoenix and lift CCK to glory!" Man of the match Mike Morrison talking to BBC 5 Live Sport said "all the boys showed heart, grit and drive today, especially after going 3-2 down to come back and win. Its important we keep this form in to the next few weeks". CCK FC face local rivals Portslade Athletic next Saturday.
