Away league match played on 08 January 2012.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

In Chadwicks first game in 4 weeks Chadwick travelled a 50 minute drive to Long Compton.

Chadwick started well and put a lot of pressure on the Compton goal in the first 15 minutes. Chances we made a plenty, but failed to hit the back of the net.

Long Compton then stepped up their game a bit and had a few half chances but also failed to score.

Chadwick looked a bit sluggish after the 4 week Christmas break and still carried on making chances, but carried on failing to get that all important first goal and it seemed like it may not be Chadwick’s day when top goal scorer Danny Chinn beat the Compton goalkeeper and clearly had the ball over the line only for the referee to wave play on.

Then after 35 minutes Compton attacked and after some sloppy defending by Chadwick found the back of the net with a good strike to make the score 0-1 to Long Compton.

Chadwick carried on pushing for the equalizer and had more chances, but failed to score in the first half.

HALF TIME

The second half began and a new signing Ben Saunders made his debut in centre midfield.

Chadwick carried on as they did in the first half and put pressure on the Long Compton goal.

Once again though some sloppy defending allowed Long Compton to get their second goal making the score 0-2 Long Compton.

This then gave Chadwick a much needed kick start and finally Tom Harris managed to find the net with a smart move striking the left post and ending up in the back of the net. 1-2

About 5 minutes later another fine move by Chadwick allowed Anthony Willis a goal with a tap in at the back post. 2-2

Chadwick had finally remembered how to find the net and took the lead for the first time with another fine move by Tom Harris bagged his second of the day making the score 3-2

Chadwick’s final substitution brought Tommy Williams on and with a well worked move by Danny Chinn he struck the ball across the Compton goal and allowed Tommy Williams a tap in for his first Chadwick End goal. 4-2

Long Compton never gave up and with a long range shot goal keeper Tim Harris stumbled and the ball ended up in the back of the Chadwick goal making the score 4-3 to Chadwick and all to play for both teams.

On a hatrick Tom Harris made a fine individual run which saw the Long Compton defender bring him down in the penalty area. Penalty Chadwick. Harris stepped up and coolly slotted the ball in the bottom left hand corner giving him his hatrick. 5-3

With his first goal for Chadwick Tommy Williams had the taste for it and hit a clean strike into the Compton goal which left the keeper standing and gave the game to Chadwick.

Not one of Chadwick’s better performances, but still a good result and another 3 points putting them on 36 points for the season and winning 12 out of 12.
