The Champions team welcomed Feza Boys O-level to Bagamoyo on 23 August 2025 for a friendly 11-a-side encounter that kicked off at 4:30pm under the watchful eye of referee Kidodi. Despite conceding an early goal, the home side rallied impressively to secure a 3-1 victory after 90 minutes of competitive football.

Deploying a 4-1-2-3 formation, the Champions team set up with Elisha Mackey guarding the goal. The defensive line featured Abubakar Mwinda at right back, Makyua and Abraham Manonga as central defenders, and Albakir Mbeyu on the left flank. Collin Nixon took up the holding midfield role, shielding the back four. Ahead of him, Feisal Salum operated on the right attacking midfield, while Dareen Kalua occupied the left attacking midfield position. The front three consisted of Gyani Godlove on the right wing, Aivan Mziray leading the line as striker, and Ibrahim Wida on the left wing. The substitutes named were Mohammed Rashid, Victor Sanga, and Johannes Magulu.

The match began with Feza Boys O-level taking the lead in the 12th minute through a composed finish inside the box with their right foot, setting an early challenge for the home side. The goal came after some incisive attacking play that caught the Champions team defence momentarily off guard.

In response, the Champions team made a tactical substitution in the 24th minute, with Mohammed Rashid replacing Albakir Mbeyu at left back. This change appeared to inject fresh energy and stability into the defensive unit. Just eight minutes later, Rashid made an instant impact by unleashing a powerful long-range strike from outside the box with his right foot, levelling the score at 1-1 and reigniting the home crowd’s enthusiasm.

As the first half drew to a close, the Champions team sought to maintain momentum. At the interval, a further tactical switch saw Victor Sanga come on for Ibrahim Wida on the left forward position, aiming to bolster attacking options and creativity down the flank.

The second half commenced with the Champions team continuing to press for the lead. Another substitution followed in the 53rd minute when Johannes Magulu replaced Dareen Kalua in the left attacking midfield role, signalling a clear intent to dominate possession and create chances.

The breakthrough arrived in the 62nd minute when Magulu capitalised on a goalmouth scramble, slotting home a close-range finish with his right foot. The goal was expertly set up by Feisal Salum, whose short pass unlocked the Feza Boys defence and allowed Magulu to convert confidently.

With the score now 2-1, the Champions team maintained control and looked to extend their advantage. Their persistence paid off in the 84th minute when Victor Sanga scored from inside the box with a precise right-footed finish, sealing a commanding 3-1 lead.

Throughout the match, the Champions team demonstrated tactical flexibility and resilience, overcoming an early deficit through well-timed substitutions and effective use of their wide attacking players. The combination of disciplined defending, midfield control, and clinical finishing ultimately ensured a deserved victory on home soil.
