Away friendly match played on 02 August 2015.
Kicked off at 2:45 PM

Charlie's Bar started the game in what can only ne described in world beating form. For twenty five minutes they played some of the best football you will ever see a Sunday football team playing, to put this game beyond their opponents. The goal scoring started in the 6th minute when Franny Kilpatrick broke clear on the left and cut inside his opponent who then brought him down for a penalty kick which he then drilled low into the net. A great start to the game by Charlie's Bar was to get even better when the keeper came out to clear what should have been a simple clearance but instead he hit it against his centre back and the ball rolled into the net to make it 2-0 to Charlie's. It needs to be said that the panic that had set into the Valley team was due to what can only be described as scintillating football from a Charlie's Bar team which was showing its domination from the outset.

It has been a long time since the watching crowd have seen a Sunday amateur team produce such a performance of total football akin to that displayed by the Holland team of the 70's which included Neeskens, Rep, Cruyff aka Cairnie, McPhee and McGivern to name just a few of the Charlie's team who were on song.

The scoring was to continue when Cairnie collected the ball before jinking to his right and dispatching the ball to where it lay 2 minutes previously...in the back of the Valley net to make it 3-0. The Charlie's Bar management team were purring like lions in the jungle as their team were like predators in the valley tearing the prey to shreds.

As Charlie's settled into a more sedate pace it took them until the 32nd minute to add to their goal tally when Stuart Carinie doubled his tally with a neat finish from 10 yards. It was fair to say at this point that Charlie's Bar where in total domination and if there was a white flag to be waved or a towel to be thrown in during a football game then it would have happened at this point in this game as the Valley team had no answer to the drive, pace, determination , passing and movement of Charlie's Bar F C.

In the second half Charlie's Bar made regular changes to their team which seemed to upset the rythm that they had been in but none the less this did not prevent them from adding to their lead in the 55th minute when Stuart Cairnie collected the ball in the Valley box and with aplomb put it in the back of their net to give him his hat trick. Special praise must be given to Cairnie and his forward line partner Francis Kilpatrick for the amount of ground they covered during the game in closing down the opposition and defending from the front, an infection which spread throughout the team. Even with the praise that is deservedly given to the front two of Charlie's it is a team game and with that said praise should also go to the defensive group which started the game and in particular Jordan McPhee who was given the man of the match award.

The valley managed to score a consolation goal midway through the second half as Charlie's took their foot off the gas and strolled through the remainder of the game.

When asked after the game about the performance both Stig and Jason responded by purring contently as they returned to their den.
