Home league match played on 10 February 2013.

A good, efficient result today lads. We attacked and defended well and thoroughly deserved the 3 points.

We started the game well and looked to take control of the game from the first whistle. We spoke about the importance of two and one touch passing and it was pleasing to see us doing this on the pitch.

We managed to take an early lead through emergency striker Luke G and what an effort it was!! Good build up play led to the ball falling for Luke G just outside the area on the left hand side. Luke then placed a curling effort into the far top right hand corner with the keeper no chance!!! 1-0!!

We continued to dominate proceedings and it wasn’t long before we scored our second goal, and my personal favorite of the game. We must have strung together roughly 10-15 passes before Danny H squared to Eddy who made no mistake by finishing well past the helpless keeper. The most impressive thing about this goal was our ball retention. We were very patient with our build up play and didn’t force and passes and instead waited for our opportunity to shoot. A great team goal. 2-0 HT.

We approached the second half in a different fashion to the first. We decided to sit back and then catch N C A on the break and we could have easily had a hatful during this half. We did manage to score a third, again through Eddy. Good closing down from Danny G in the middle of the park saw him emerge with the ball and immediately find Eddy on the left wing. Eddy, one on one, then finished well past the N C A keeper. 3-0.

We probably should have had a penalty during this half and maybe did ride our luck a touch towards the end as N C A piled on the first real bit of pressure of the match but I think we deserved the clean sheet on our overall defensive display and thoroughly deserved all three points. FT 3-0.

A good win and a great boost going into the match against struggling Wanderers. Lets press on and have a good end to the season!!
