Today's quarter final away to Dynamo Dudley ended in a 3-2 defeat for Claregate.
2 first half goals from Dynamo and a Claregate penalty miss saw the score 2-0 at half time.
Claregate battled hard throughout the game and got their reward on 69 mins when Kane Lewis pounced on a defensive mistake and played in Kyle Matthews for a calm finish from 14 yards. Claregate took the game to Dynamo and had chances to draw level but it was Dynamo that extended their lead on 85 minutes. Claregate bounced straight back on 86 minutes with Kyle and Kane again combining, this time Kyle turning provider for Kane to score Claregate's 2nd. Despite a performance full pride, graft and quality, it wasn't enough to see Claregate into the semis.
Subs used were Daniel "Burnzy" Burns on for Tobias Elliott, Sam "Woppy" Wapshott on for Si Stokes and John Goodwin on for Ben Bickley. Claregate man of the match went to Kane Lewis for an action packed performance underlined with a goal and an assist but mentions to Marc "Tommo" Thomas and Nathan Ratcliffe who were both solid and commanding from the back.
