Home league match played on 25 September 2011.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Another Sunday morning on the mount.  Which Commercial would turn up?!!  Well both actually, the good for 30 minutes and the bad for 60!!

The game started with the likes of Jamie Fowler, Stuart Lincoln, Nick Palmer and Tim Boorer missing, however, the returning Dom Billington and Ash Buck and a debut for Mike Hyde made the team just as strong.

The opening fifteen minutes, however, were non-existent for the Commercial.  Hap-hazard passing, with no more than three passes being completed, no support for the lone striker and no organisation were instrumental in the Turks head opening three goals in a quarter of an hour.

A kick up the backside was required - 3-0 down and it arrived.  The passing started to get going which culminated on 20 minutes with a ball over the top to Pete Noble.  He collected the ball on the right hand side mid way in the oppostion half, used his pace to get in front of the defender hounding him, and from a tight angle just inside the penalty area, placed the ball across the keeper into the far corner of the net.  A great goal to get his scoring season underway.

This seemed to deflate the opposition whose central midfielder 'Mr Discipline' Ramos already wanted to change things!!  He was an angry man!!  This seemed to give confidence to the Commercial and they were on top for the next twenty minutes.  On 27 minutes, a Mike Hyde scuff across found Mike Clark.  In a very simalar goal to the one a week before against Ayton.  He brought the ball under close control, turned the defender and once again smashed the ball towards goal.  This time the keeper could get to it but could do nothing against the outcome as the ball flew into the net.  3-2 and the comeback was on!!

The next ten minutes went by without incident, The Commercial being on top however.

Then, one of the easiest decisions the Referee will have to make all game came about.  As Mike Clarke was taking on the defender towards the edge of the box, the defender inexplicably and blatantly brought him down.  Mike picked himself off and dusted himself down and proceeded to blast the ball into the back of the net.  The comeback was complete and before half time too.  The Commercial just had to keep it like this til half time.............

Ooops!!  A good move by the opposition ended with a cracking finish on 44 minutes which had the reverse effect from the opening goal fot the Commercial.  It inspired Turks Head and despite a positive half time team talk, forgetting the first twenty minutes, Turks Head scored two goals in the opening 10 minutes of the second half - 6-3 down and although there was still hope, the lack of organistation and support and passing once again eluded the home team.

Tom Black came on for Geoff Osguthorpe but even that did not stem the tide as another goal came shortly after to make it 7-3.  Chances came and went for Turks Head as they overpowered a tiring Commercial who, despite their play which all can describe as 'not at their best' you can never accuse them of not working hard.  As they chased and chased and worked, unfortunately nothing came of it and another goal by the opposition condemned them to a heavy defeat. 8-3.

Mike, Pete and Matty received majority of Man of the match votes with Mike claiming the most as he seems to be enjoying his football again and back to his best following his career threatening knee injury and surgery the previous summer.  Pete scoring goals again which hopefully will get him going this year and James Tadman looking good on the wing when he came on were the positives that came out of the game.

Next week, away at Whitby and two questions on our mind.  One - Which Commercial will turn up and two - Will we get to see another half naked picture of Mike drinking a cocktail as he vies for a fourth man of the match in a row!!
