After the previous weeks disappointment the girls’ had the chance
to final in the Dorset Cup. They would have to do so without a poorly Millie.
Meg offered to don the gloves for the first half with Kaitlyn and Faye doing a split shift in the second....thank you ladies!
In truth, the team had probably booked their final place in a rampant opening 15mins. Calm finishes from Carly, Brooke and Sophie backed up by Charlotte’s thunderbolt (4-0) put the contest beyond doubt. Second goals from Brooke and Sophie (6-0) followed by Faye’s first for the team ??(7-0) made for a very comfortable score line. Stating the obvious, it was a very dominant half, positive football with final pass assists from Lauren, Charlotte, Mya and Kaitlyn.
HT 7-0.
The second half proved a messier, fragmented affair mainly due to some strange managerial decisions ??, the girls’ not being allowed to settle due to constant changes.
A nice moment for a Blandford team that never gave up, scoring from a GK/defensive mixup (7-1). The win was sealed when Meg deflected Lucie’s effort in off her thigh and Charlotte driving home her second of the match (9-1).
FT 9-1.
Although not the most competitive match this season it was job done and a Dorset Cup Final date can be penned into the diaries.
