Today’s game was a our first shut out and with this type of effort it wont be the last we see this season. The defence played like a solid unit and in the engine room Dan H and Kempy ruled the roost and created not only a great shield for the defence but a great springboard for Parker, Shane, Lee, Mike and frosty to counter from. We started fresh and the best we have for many games, we were up for the challenge.

We also had inspired performances which made us look and feel like were almost at top gear, a battling defensive display from Ewan, Andy and Charlie. Sublime runs from Parker and the Front men which to be honest we have been threatening to do for some time. To crown the day off Lee B slotted again and Parker finished the game with the second in the midway point of the second half. All this and were missing a few guys also, on this form they might need to wait to get there chance again.

Lee’s goal was a lovely finish from outside of the area, outside of the boot, keep missing……Well missing for most of the game to be honest, an early bath after chasing some of the management directly after his sending off was to be fair all he deserved. To add to his sins he even handled outside his box which in every other game he would of seen red anyway.

Lee also contributed in the second great work from mike and Charlie saw the ball break to the keeper, Lee closed him down made the tackle and when the ball broke to Parker in goes the heartbreaker 2-0 job done. After that point I think we all relaxed and looked forward to our next opponent in the cup which is either Leigh Town or Lakeside; a game we should always win.

A little moan we need to turn up on time, people want to point the finger but if you’re late you’re to blame not the management, enough said all positive other than that lads.

We had Frosts running 40 yards to make a tackle, fantastic we had Shane constant threat, it was a great team performance.

We also missed a few chances too, Mike’s header and Ant C knocked one in after it popped out of play, Parker should have had a penalty, Shane had a good shot saved in the first half but we were so much more on the ball than White Ensign I feel we could of created chances all day long this is how good you dug in and played for each other, so much better than last weeks efforts.

Man of the match is another hard decision which is good, lots of contenders and I hope the form of so many continue we need it, the next two games we have Rochford Away and a Semi Final to play. Form needs to be constantly assessed so we get the best out of people but in general better much better. It was so much better than last week’s efforts.
