This report is really for the visitors to our web site and to remind all of us just how good we actually are.

We are now coming to the end of our first four months of competitive football, which at times has been frustrating but also a huge success.

Our squad consists of just nine players and up to a few games ago, just eight. Out of that eight only five played together last season with one in another Panthers team and two with another club. Although training took place throughout the summer, our first training session where all eight players were together was just a week before the season started.

We have played 23 games in total so far this season. During this time we have only had a substitute(s) on three occasions. One game away to Worthing we played (and won) with just six players!!

Each game we play is 30 minutes in duration with two games per fixture. That is one hour of football each match day.

Every team we have met, have the luxury of player numbers and field two completely different teams each fixture and every single one have a wealth of talent they can call on if short on numbers which is the direct opposite of ourselves.

Taking all this into consideration most people would expect the team to be at the foot of the table struggling to cope with the calibre of opposition we are up against. But nothing could be further from the truth.

The current league table 11/12/12 is shown above, we are top of the league having won 16 and drawn 2 of 22 games played so far and currently have the league top scorer in Louie. This is a gigantic success story which is down to the hard work, team spirit, dedication and friendship of the players, their parents and the coaches.

Todays game saw our seven players 9no substitutes) play the full hour in cold and rainy conditions without being able take any kind of shelter from the elements. MOM was O2 (Ollie B), our ninth and most recent addition who joined the squad mid way through the season. He came into a team and tried to adapt to our style of football, which for any player would be quite a challenge. Today, O2 played the full hour against two different teams, scored his first goal and did not look out of place one little bit.

Small Squad - Big Hearts

Well done Crawley Panthers Blue..........................all 9 of you!!!!!
