Away league match played on 27 September 2009.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

A must win game for Chaseside turned into one of the easiest games they will probably play. After arriving at Townsend not knowing what really to expect the game kicked off and it became quickly apparent that Chaseside were the far superior team. After a few shaky minutes in which Stuart was forced into a good low save Chaseside dominated and played some really nice football, carving open the Townsend defence time and time again on probably the narrowest pitch we will play on all season! After 20 minutes the ball was played out onto the Right Wing where Carl B does what he does best (and probably not often enough!) and beat the left back with his pace and put a low cross into the box which was tapped into the net by Matt H.

Chaseside carried on pressing and maybe should have put a couple of efforts away before they were awarded a penalty for a handball that was possibly a bit harsh. Somehow Dean I talked Karl G out of taking the penalty (bear in mind he has never missed!) and then proceeded to put the ball more or less down the middle of the goal which was easily saved. Luckily for him and Chaseside, Paul was on hand to tap in the rebound and spare his blushes!

At half time Townsend made a few tactical changes and this posed a threat to Chaseside for around 10 minutes after the break but Stuart still didn’t really have to make any hard saves. Chaseside then turned up the heat once again and started playing some lovely one touch passing quick football. Every time Chaseside got a set play Townsend looked shaky and after a few let offs and a misjudged defensive header at the back post, the ball fell to Steve D who then took one touch and had all the time in the world to volley into the top corner of the goal to make it 3-0.

Chaseside pushed on to try and score a few more goals but could not find the net and the game finished 3-0. Overall we would have liked a few more goals to get the goal difference back up again but it was not to be, however when we play them again later on in the season at Home on a big pitch we should stick a few more past them. 3 points, season starts here!
