Enfield Celtic hosted BJD Celtic at Flomax Park on the evening of 9 October 2026, with kick-off at 7:45pm in a keenly contested league fixture. Despite taking an early lead, Enfield Celtic ultimately fell 2-1 to their visitors after a tense second half.

Enfield Celtic lined up in a 4-3-3 formation, aiming to balance defensive solidity with attacking width. Sean Coyle took his place in goal, protected by a back four consisting of Conor Geraghty at right back, Dylan Mcdonagh and Nathan Ainscough as central defenders, and Jack Campion on the left. The midfield trio featured Ciaran Barker on the right, Evan Geraghty centrally, and Sean McKeon on the left, tasked with linking defence and attack while supporting the forward line. Up front, the wide forwards were Ethan McLoughlin on the right and Laoghaire Connolly on the left, flanking the central striker, Ciaran Gorman. The substitutes named were Cian Geraghty, Sam Jordan, and Mark Steinmann.

The match burst into life early on as Enfield Celtic took the lead in the 6th minute. Ethan McLoughlin delivered a precise cross from the right flank into the penalty area, where Ciaran Gorman expertly controlled the ball and fired a right-footed finish inside the box past the BJD Celtic goalkeeper. This early goal set the tone for an open and competitive first half, with both sides probing for further chances.

As the game progressed towards half-time, Enfield Celtic maintained their shape and attempted to control possession through their midfield. The defensive partnership of Mcdonagh and Ainscough remained composed, while the full-backs Geraghty and Campion offered support going forward. However, BJD Celtic gradually grew into the contest, testing Coyle with a series of efforts before the break. The half concluded with Enfield Celtic holding a slender 1-0 advantage.

The second half saw tactical adjustments from both sides. Enfield Celtic made a double substitution in the 71st minute, bringing on Cian Geraghty for the tiring Ciaran Gorman and Sam Jordan replacing Evan Geraghty in midfield. Shortly after, Mark Steinmann was introduced for Ciaran Gorman once again, indicating a reshuffle in the attacking options.

BJD Celtic capitalised on these changes almost immediately, equalising in the 72nd minute to level the score at 1-1. The visitors then seized the momentum and struck again in the 84th minute to take the lead 2-1, turning the match on its head in a matter of minutes.

Enfield Celticโ€™s frustration was evident as Conor Geraghty received a yellow card in the 83rd minute for dissent by word or action. Moments later, Ciaran Barker was also booked for persistent infringements, reflecting the mounting pressure on the home side as they sought an equaliser.

Despite their efforts in the closing stages, Enfield Celtic were unable to break down BJD Celticโ€™s defence and the visitors held on for a vital victory. Dylan Mcdonagh stood out with a commanding defensive display throughout the match, earning him the player of the match accolade.

In summary, Enfield Celtic started brightly and took an early lead but were undone by two swift goals from BJD Celtic in the second half. Tactical substitutions and disciplinary issues disrupted their rhythm, ultimately costing them valuable points at Flomax Park.
