Yet another dominant display from team FAST in the third league game of the YPL season winning the game with a whooping 10-0.

Right from the first whistle, the girls chased down their opponents relentlessly forcing them to make mistakes early on in the game.

Harshini Iyer, who couldn't attend the previous game, looked like a girl on a mission. Beaming with confidence, Harshini showed how clinical she can be in front of the goal, scoring 4 goals in the first half itself! Besides scoring goals, she also helped create some of the goals during the game. Her strike partner Anuja displayed a very high work rate by continuously putting pressure on the opponents. Although she didn't get herself on the scoresheet, she helped create some of the goals for the team exhibiting the qualities of a perfect team player.

While Harshini and Anuja were creating havoc in the opposition half, our defence made sure the opponents were kept in check and did not allow them to come anywhere near the goal. Shivika, Alisha and Nyesha played the game out from the back comfortably and made some pretty slick moves. Alisha kept pushing forward combining well with Harshini and Anuja down the left flank and ended up scoring 1 goal and assisting in another, whereas Nyesha looked more composed at the back and many a times, read the game well to intercept passes turning defence into attack on numerous occasions. The only goal threat from the opponents came off a rebounded shot from Shivika who was half way down the pitch while taking the shot but did immensely well to recover running and catching the ball in her box facing her own goal.

The first half ended with the team 5 goals up and non conceded.

The second half began with the coaches changing the entire team giving the girls some valuable game time and they did not disappoint. While Harshini scored 4 goals in the first half, Kiara showed that she too has some tricks up her sleeve scoring 3 goals in the second half with some sublime finishing all with the help of her strike partner Vedika who assisted in 2 of the 3 goals that Kiara scored. Vedika too showed some quick footwork to get passed her opponents and move into dangerous areas making it hard for the opponents to track her down.

The defensive unit of Utsavi, Yana and Reet were now tasked with keeping the team sheets clean and how they lived up to expectation was incredible. The three worked strong together and even though they made a few mistakes at the back, they fought hard to make sure that nothing went through them. They also were very calm and composed while under pressure from the opponents in their own half playing the ball out from tight situations.

The final two goals of the game were scored by Alisha and Shivika from range. Such is the versatility of the team - goalkeeper in the first half Shivika turned defender in the second half and even scored her first goal in the league.

An overall wonderful team display, with some good football being played in the process. The girls are creating an identity for themselves of a ruthless yet composed nature. Another 3 points in the bag and onto the next game.
