Home cup match played on 16 February 2013.
Kicked off at 11:00 AM

You will see from the list of goalscorers that it looks like we scored 9 when it was only 7, this is due to a dispute over who scored the first and sixth goals. After talking to players, coaches, parents and the ref I cannot decide on them, so I am putting the players concerned as scoring a goal each. The main thing is we won and are through to the quarter finals to face Dugannon away.

The Glens started the game well and after 7 minutes got a deserved lead through a great strike from Cian or a tap in from Ruari which ever way you look at it. The lead only lasted one minute when a Ballymoney player hit a great strike from about 20 yards out and seen the ball go over Ewan and into the roof of the net. For the rest of the half we found it hard to create any clear cut chances and seen any shots go wide or wasted. Ballymoney had a game plan which was to launch the ball over the top and use their fast forward men to try and get the lead. They used this very effectively and nearly came close to a second goal on several occasions. Good defending, last ditch takles and good clearances from Ewan stopped them from getting their second. Once halftime came the wee Glens certainly knew that they were in a game and knew they would have to shake off the tired legs from the match on Friday night if they were going to progress to the next round. Once the second half started we finally got a grip on the game and with 6 goals in the space of 12 minutes finally realised that we would be heading to the quarter finals. The second goal came by way of Ruari after he hit the crossbar, chased the ball down then hit a shot which the keeper saved but couldn't hold it and Ruari put it into the back of the net. 2 minutes later Barry stroked the ball over the defence and keeper after great work down the right by Corai. 5 minutes later it was Ruari again who scored from the move of the match, Donal got the ball on the edge of our 18 yard box and passed it to Barry who then played a one two with Billy and then played the ball through the defence from just inside our half which Ruari ran onto and scored passed the keeper. 2 minutes later it was Ruari again who got the ball on the halfway line and after beating a couple of defenders got another goal. 2 minutes later again and after getting a free kick Donal put a great shot on goal which bounced over everyone into the back of the net.....or.......Donal took a great free kick which Billy managed to get a head on it and directed it over the keeper. Just to round things off Owen got the last goal of the game with a well deserved goal by way of a powerfull header. We looked tired the first half and had to battle at times to go in at halftime drawing but after scoring quick goals came out on top. A great performance from the squad which seen everyone named as Man of the Match. On the website it is marked down as Ruari because a name has to be added and when it was shared with Ewan at the Linfield game it was Ewan's name that went on the website. Well done to the wee team.
