Away league match played on 07 November 2010.
Kicked off at 11:00 AM

Are first gamof the season against are local rivals Purbrook Ath away and it was down to Darren to help stear the lads to victory due to me having to work on a sunday of all days.

Starting with a usual 4-5-1 with ryan n charlie ryan s and josh on the subs bench the game kicked off at a fast pace with both teams trying to get a foot hold of the game with Havant making the best of the opening mins winning two concecutive corners and creating a number of chances first kieron forced the keeper into making a great save from a very well struck shot then lewis tested the keeper from a free kick just outside the box and alfie looking to get his first goal for the club went close  with a well hit shot that was well saved again by the purbrook keeper who seemed to be on form.

We limited purbrook into very little in the first half and when purbrook did create any chances they found billy being on form and ready when ever he was called apon making a couple of good saves.

About 15mins in and kieron made it 1-0 with a very well taken goal putting it over the keepers head into the top corner, that settled what ever nerves we had in the team and began to help us lift the tempo although at the same time purbrook began to drag us into a messy game soon finding are selfs losing are positions and bunching together and thats how the rest of the first half went with very little and few chances being made, going in 1-0 ahead at the break.

Ryan n replaced sam and josh replaced toby just after half time and from the kick off are defence were forced into making several last ditch tackles with smithy ryan lewis jack and then ollie all working hard to break up play and sniff out any purbrook chances.

Josh and jacks throws were not being used well and were wasted with the lads failing to win the flick on's and second balls.

Then in the 39th min a great team move ended with max slotting home to make the score 2-0 and put the game firmly in are control it was a great three touch move between josh alfie and max with alfie grabbing the assist and max finishing well.

Ryan s replaced cameron on 45mins but the game fadded with very little chances towards the end with both keepers and defences doing well and the game slowly ended with the result 2-0 to Havant overall it was a good game with both teams working hard and creating chances but Havant just edged it with the two goals and by playiong the better football.

Man of the match went to are super keeper billy who kept an impresive clean sheet and to help us to a very well needed win to keep up the pressure on wpt at the top of the league.

Well done lads am proud of you and glad you all worked hard when i have been away and it may not of been the best performance but a win and a clean sheet is all u can ask for and is a very good result, lets keep it up and its back to the hampshire cup next week so lets get are heads back in the game and continue to work hard and play well.
