Away league match played on 13 March 2016.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

A Hat-trick and two assists by Dan Walker give Heddon a hard fought 5-0 win over Haltwhistle to stretch their winning run in the league to 11 games.

After an impressive 9-0 win the week before Dave Green stood by most of that Heddon Team with a few additions being made due to injury.

On a very uneven surface it was Haltwhistle who started the match better, playing a number of high balls direct into the Heddon defence which the away team dealt with well but unfortunately could not get there foot on the ball to get any moves going.

The first main incident of the match occurred around 10 minutes when Ballaz came out of a challenge looking the way he did the other Friday night with blood gushing from above his eye.
A screaming Dan Walker at the referee claiming the Haltwhistle striker threw an intentional elbow seemed a bit over the top but after looking at the wound, a majority of the people on the side line could see Dans frustration.

After a bit of medical attention provided by Bull and Ciaran (I'm Irish but have a Geordie accent) O'Donnell, Ballaz was on his feet again raring to go.

Haltwhistle were still on top but the first clear chance of match fell after great work by Sean and Dan Walker seen a ball played into the box only for Dan Fleming put his shot over the bar from a few yards out.

Heddon started getting into game and were dominating play with Man of The Match Ross Bailey bossing the middle of the park.
An unfortunate tumble by Ballaz seen the big lad give way to Scoob after his KNEE being the injured part of his body and not his head!

Heddon were knocking on the Home teams door with Woody hitting the post and pulling a header just wide along with Dan Walker and Sean Hownam hitting shots straight at the keeper, however Heddon got their goal after brilliant work again by Sean seen him play a ball to Mr Walker who made no mistake with the finish, making it 1-0.

Heddon went into Half Time being the better team but knew they would have to be at the top of their game in order not to let there lead slip.

The 2nd goal of the match came Heddons way after Dan Walker was tripped in the box making him swan dive to influence the referee in giving the penalty. (It was a blatant penalty mind) and the striker buried it to take his goal tally to 27 for the season.

2-0 quickly became 3-0 after a corner kick by Sean seen the ball bounce out to Dan who fired the ball back in and an Unmarked Alex Burnie a nice first touch then burying the ball from close range! 6 in 7 for the Christ looking defender!

Haltwhistle could not get any momentum going and all the play was coming from Heddon with numerous attacks coming from both flanks and they got their 4th after a great corner kick from Sean was nodded away by an unmarked Scoob!

Heddon had their 5th after a great run by substitute Mark Murtagh seen him play a ball into the box and after a few ricosheas Sean Howman got the ball at his feet only to be tripped by a Haltwhistle defender. Again Dan Walker made no mistake with the resulting penalty!

A number of great opportunities went to waste after great work on separate occasions by Mark Richardson and Dan Ramshaw seen there crack balls into box unfortunately not being put away.

The match ended 5-0 to the away team but in all honesty Heddon could of ran out winners by a greater margin with the dominance they had after the first 15 minutes, but with a difficult run in till the end of the season this was just the performance they needed!

Heddon now have 3 games to go to secure the league title along with competing for 2 cups and they certainly have their eyes on the treble!

Howay the Heed!!
