Home league match played on 04 December 2016.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Horden Supporters got back into winning ways for their League game against Murton Colliery FC but it came at a price. In form Michael Robson (7 minutes) and John Bowes (34 minutes) had to leave the pitch through injuries. Sadly Robson has sustained a broken collar bone. Horden took the lead on 28 minutes when Jack Pounder fed James Connor whose long drive went under the 'keeper into the bottom corner to give the home side a slender 1-0 half time lead.

The home side grew in confidence with two excellent goals. The first was a bullett header from Scott Davidson, who on 62 minutes, connected with Robert Taylors' perfect corner. Nine minutes later a volley from all of 25 yards by 'Man Of The Match' Taylor latched on to a super crossfield pass whichwas an absolute joy to watch. Murton got a consolation goal on 78 minutes but Horden held firm and gained three valuable points.

Horden CW Supporters 3 Murton Colliery 1
Horden continued their current good form with a fine 3-1 league win. Both teams started a bit sluggish, but it was Horden who took the lead when James Connors shot from the edge of the area squirmed under the Murton keeper. Horden had to make an early substitute when Michael Robson went down from a heavy challenge which resulted in a broken shoulder we wish Micky a speedy recovery. HT 1-0. In the second half Horden started the brighter and they were soon two up when Scott Davidson headed home a Robert Renwick corner. It was Renwicks' turn to get his name on the scoresheet when Craig Harbord played the perfect pass for Renwick to bring down and unleash a left foot drive that gave the visiting keeper no chance. Murton gave themselves a bit of a lifeline when they pulled a goal back but Horden were strong enough to hold on for the win and the 3 points. #UTS #UTL
