Hyde United Vs Dukinfield Tigers (2-1)

What a brilliant win against a very good team! For me it was our best team performance of the year and every one of the lads deserves a massive pat on the back ????.

We started really well and were battling in every tackle and getting into good positions. It was really good to see the lads taking more shots at goal and we deservedly took the lead through Oscar, who got in a great position and finished off the bar from in the area ??!

At half time we knew there was a lot still to play for and we talked about continuing to battle for every ball. We got stung with an OG making it 1-1 which I worried would knock us but we shook it off well. We re-shuffled and got Freddie back into midfield and it paid off massively with him getting the winner with a right foot strike with 2 minutes to go. Those 2 minutes seemed forever but we stood firm and I even saw a little bit of gamesmanship as well ????!

It would be wrong of me not to give each player a shout out today so here goes:

Robbie was outstanding today, his shot stopping is phenomenal and there were at least 3 today that I thought were in, only for him to fly through the air and save. His bravery and kicking were also outstanding - a really good display.

Elijah continued his recent form, I think he was frustrated to play the majority of the game in defence but he was a rock today and with it being so tight I needed him back there. He battled with his tackling and was brave on the ball to get us moving forward.

Elliot was the other rock in defence! As he does most weeks, he wins the ball high up the pitch and gets us moving forward and is fearless in the tackle. A real warrior that I felt we needed back in defence towards the end.

Oscar had his best game for a while and all done whilst feeling a bit under the weather. His energy, determination and work rate was great to see and he fully deserved his goal.

Rehan also showed that he can battle and was pleasing to see him be brave with balls in the air, looking to be first to it and showing that drop of the shoulder we have seen in recent weeks to get some space.

A true Hugo performance today, battling all game showing his strength and determination to get on the ball and get us up the pitch. His runs won us a number of corners and throwins to get us on the attack and he got the assist for the winner through this work.

Tommy was brilliant up top! No goal this week but his work rate was fantastic and allowed us to win the ball higher and open spaces for others. A real team performance that he should be proud of. Loves his passion when we scored as well!

Last but by no means least is Freddie, our Man of the Match this week. Another one feeling a bit under the weather but gave us everything he had. He got us up the pitch numerous times with some great long passes. He was brave on the ball and got his shots off when we could. As mentioned, he wanted to go in defence but I felt we were missing something when he did so swapped it round and I was delighted to see him get the winner.

I was told at the end of the game that Duki were unbeaten all season which shows how far we have come as a team and I am so proud of all of them ??.

Have a great weekend everyone, 10 minutes till I’m in the pub ????
