Home friendly match played on 09 April 2016.
Kicked off at 5:00 PM

So..our first game after the IncepcionFC General Election 2016 party.

And so...after a two week campaigning period, some devious strategizing, broken promises, tears and homo-primal alcohol induced greek behaviour..we have our democratically elected committee.

A big thank you to all that managed to turn up and a special shout out to Yew Boon for his generosity in helping manage the location as well as all who helped out. YB would get some special personal thanks towards the end of the night from our out going manager. ;)

Our first game in the transitional phase and a friendly against the Naughty Devils in the north of Singapore at Marsiling. A rainy afternoon for a change that really helped take the heat away for the game in a very very hot tax season.

Nothing really much to shout about for the game and as mentioned, as we were transitioning, perhaps some roles were in limbo. Furthermore, this is the first time there is a change of guards so roles were not truly determined. Colin took over managerial duties as SK still had milk on his upper lips from the BBQ. YB didn't come as he didn't know how to look SK in the eye anymore. Harold thought Loy was captain, Loy thought harold was captain, harold thought he was vice captain, Pat thought he was Captain America, Ben felt he was captain. Roger wanted to buy 4D, Jensen wanted to get rid of the panama papers by handing over the club finances to Roger....in short...pandemonium.

We started the game with a full squad while the opponents started with 9, yet at various intervals they controlled the passage of play. Perhaps the confusion was really getting to us in who was to take charge of what. Surprisingly, we took the lead when they had the full complement of 11 players. A through ball from Colin to Jun Wen and with the keeper slow off the line, brought him down without touching the ball. Penalty! Colin, duly stepped up and smashed it in off the post. Whew.

We went into the break 1-0 up.

The opponents were arguably younger than us overall and are a bunch of fit players. Quick and aggressive, there were chances at both ends with clearances off the line for both teams. They duly equalized when their striker managed to turn on the edge of the box, gained half a yard and smashed a low ball into the centre of goal past a diving sherman. Tough luck on us.

Clarence clearly contracted something from SK (health authorities are monitoring) from the BBQ and literally tackled the opponent to the ground..hugged him, held him tight stood up, continued feeling him up with a loving embrace until the referee had to come over and politely tell us our match is PG13 not RA21.

The match ended all square at 1-1 and overall a fair result. We continued the clearing of the air talks on duties post game and moving forward, it will be sorted out by the next.

Our MOM for this week clearly goes to Clarence for his unwavering play and dedication in stopping our opponents...bordering on the RA at times. Congrats Clarence.

Till next week.
