Match Report: Northern Rangers 3 - 1 Incepcion FC
This week we were up against Northern Rangers. A team that we have played previously and our last two results was a draw followed by a loss. We were hyped up to show that we have gotten better but with Ron back there was always lingering doubt...(joking)...
Kickoff....and we started well in a dry hot evening in Yishun.
First Half
We harassed them for every ball and never allowed them to settle and had our fair chances in the first 10 mins and we restricted them to taking long pot shots that our keeper dealt with easily. A loss of concentration and rush of blood to the head for SK sometime towards the last 10 mins of the 1st half meant we gave away a penalty when he slide in on a player going outwards towards the byline and caught the player. Although it was a delayed reaction from their player in going down, there was never a doubt internally or from the ref that the penalty was correct. The striker stepped up and duly smashed it straight down the centre. 1-0 to NR and we were on the backfoot.
Second Half
Being 1-0 down, we changed our formation to chase the game and reverted to the 442. With a 1-0 lead, they passed the ball around with more confidence and it left us chasing shadows at times with their quick fullbacks tearing down our flanks. We conceded another two goals before we managed to score and make the scoreline more respectable from one of our few chances when Harold beat his marker and brought the ball to the byline and crossed for Lawrence to poke into the net as their defender's heavy touch allowed the ball to ricochet back to him.
At 3-1 down and few minutes left an altercation between their striker and Sherman happened which could have resulted in a free for all but due respect to the referee who stepped in early into the situation and managed to hold the situation and prevented it from escalating.
MOM: This week's MOM goes to Yiong - Worked hard and closed down opponents to win us important possession in their half and put in a good shift onto those long balls.

This year also sees Incepcion celebrating it's first year anniversary on June 21st and to celebrate this occasion, we have decided to gatecrash Jiunn's family chalet on July 4th. He has kindly volunteered the venue for a round of BBQ and drinks. We will be having a 3pm game on that day and will adjourn to the chalet after.
