KVFC kicked off there season with a midweek game at home to Nailsea Utd A.

KVFC STARTING SQUAD: Stu Wilson, Dan Andrews, Louis Vowles, Ollie Beesley, Ade Wedlake, Josh Davies, Ryan Mogg, Aaron Pullin, Craig Clothier, Ben Stanley, Ricky Smith

KVFC SUBS: Zach Michell, Pat King, Mark Buckley, Nathan Preddy

It was a poor start for Valley as they conceded a corner in the first minute which was headed in at the back post after some poor marking. Stu Wilson able to get his finger tips onto the ball but only able to parry it in the corner.

Valley were unable to obtain good possesion & later conceded a second. Goal kick taken by Stu Wilson was unchallanged by Valley & headed back towards the goal. A mix up between Wilson & Ade Wedlake saw the Nailsea striker run onto a loose ball & tap it into the empty net. KVFC were 0-2 down inside 10 minutes.

Kenn still trying to play the ball & keep possesion were still unable to create good chances. The third goal came for Nailsea in the 30th minute when the winger drove past the Valley Fullback delivering a teasing cross for the Striker to tuck home.

It was only in the last 10 minutes of the 1st half that Valley were able to start pressuring the Nailsea defence. The best of chances came from a Craig Clothier free kick whipped into the back post & Ade Wedlake's header skimming the cross bar & over.

First Half: KVFC 0 - 3 Nailsea

The second half started at a better tempo for Valley keeping the ball well & starting to create some good chances. A freekick dipped over the wall by Ryan Mogg only to find the Goalkeepers hands. It was the 55th minute when Valley had a life line. Great feet from Josh Davies threading the ball through to Mogg who stood the ball up for Dan Andrews at the back post. A fantastic header into the corner saw the score dragged back to 1-3. Chances were coming thick & fast now for Valley as a great corner put into the box from Josh Davies created mayhem. Ricky Smith heading onto the cross bar from 3 yards & Ollie Beesley's follow up strike hitting the hand of the defender on the line. The Referee waving play away. More chances were to follow with a short corner taken to Ryan Mogg who stood the ball up & Ricky Smith's free header rose over the bar. Another chance squandered by Valley.

Nailsea soon punished the Valley missed opportunities with a well crossed ball from the right hand side seen an unmarked winger strike the ball cleanly into the Top corner. Nothing that Stu Wilson in the Valley goal could do but stand & watch.

A valliant second half from KVFC to try & get back into the game with the chances to pull the game back. Well deserved win in the end for Nailsea. KVFC will look to bounce back in there next outing.

Final Score: KVFC 1 - 4 NAILSEA UTD A
