Labyrinth Football Club travelled to Boitekong Stadium on 10 May 2026 to face Black Vultures in a league away fixture kicking off at 3:30pm. The match ended in a stalemate with neither side able to find the net after 90 minutes of competitive football.
Labyrinth lined up in a traditional 4-4-2 formation, deploying Rapula Malusi in goal to marshal the defence. The back four consisted of Katlego Mapheele at right back, Amogelang Letoaba and Bruno Mokgosi as central defenders, and Ofentse Monau covering the left flank. Across midfield, Pule Phosisi operated on the right wing, Karabo Moyo and Rebaone Molekwa held the central midfield roles, while Karabo Lesame took up the left midfield position. Up front, the strike partnership featured Amogelang Lesedi on the right and Prince Moemi on the left. The substitutes bench included Mogorosi Katane and Monchusi Motlhatswi, both poised to make an impact if called upon.
From the outset, Labyrinth sought to impose their 4-4-2 shape, expecting their full-backs to provide width and support the midfield, while the central midfield duo aimed to control possession and link play to the forwards. The wide midfielders were tasked with stretching the Black Vultures’ defence and delivering crosses for the forwards to exploit.
The first half unfolded with both teams probing cautiously, but neither side managed to break the deadlock by the interval. Labyrinth’s defensive organisation, marshalled expertly by Malusi, ensured Black Vultures were kept at bay, while the midfield battle remained tight and competitive.
Shortly after the restart, Labyrinth made their first tactical change in the 65th minute, with Mogorosi Katane replacing Prince Moemi on the left forward position. This substitution aimed to inject fresh energy and sharpen the attacking threat.
Six minutes later, a moment of frustration saw right midfielder Pule Phosisi shown a yellow card for dissent, reflecting the intensity and pressure of the contest. Despite this, Labyrinth maintained their composure and shape.
Further tactical adjustments followed in the 78th minute when Monchusi Motlhatswi came on for left midfielder Karabo Lesame. This switch was designed to reinforce the midfield and maintain control as the match approached its final stages.
Throughout the second half, Labyrinth’s defensive resilience was evident, with goalkeeper Rapula Malusi producing a series of crucial saves to deny Black Vultures any clear-cut opportunities. His commanding presence between the sticks earned him the well-deserved accolade of Player of the Match.
Despite sustained efforts from both sides, the match concluded without a goal, leaving Labyrinth Football Club to take a valuable point on the road. The disciplined defensive display and tactical flexibility demonstrated by Labyrinth will provide a solid foundation as they look ahead to their next league encounter.
