Labyrinth Football Club hosted Super Africans FC at Dinie Estate Rustenburg on 5 July 2026, with kick-off at 3:00pm in a lively league encounter. The home side emerged victorious with a commanding 5-2 scoreline after 90 minutes of intense football, thrilling the 150-strong crowd.
Labyrinth lined up in a 3-4-3 formation, deploying Rapula Malusi in goal behind a back three of Katlego Mapheele on the right, Rebaone Molekwa centrally, and Kwazinkosi Sibanda on the left. The midfield quartet featured Karabo Moyo on the right wing, central duo Pule Phosisi and Bruno Mokgosi, and Tshireletso Nkosi on the left flank. Upfront, the attacking trio consisted of Prince Moemi leading as striker, flanked by two forwards occupying the right and left forward positions respectively. This setup was designed to provide width and attacking impetus from the wings while maintaining solidity at the back. The substitutes named were Gift Manda, Ofentse Monau, and Karabo Molekwa.
The match burst into life early as Labyrinth took the lead in the fifth minute. Rebaone Molekwa delivered a precise long pass that found Prince Moemi in close range, who clinically finished to open the scoring. This early goal set the tone for the home side’s attacking intent.
At 23 minutes, Labyrinth doubled their advantage in spectacular fashion. From a corner kick expertly delivered by Pule Phosisi, Tshireletso Nkosi struck directly with his right foot, curling the ball into the net to score a rare and impressive goal directly from the set piece.
Shortly after this goal, at the 24th minute, Gift Manda was introduced as a substitute due to Labyrinth starting the match short of players. This tactical adjustment was necessary to maintain balance and stamina on the pitch.
Super Africans FC pulled one back in the 31st minute, reducing the deficit and injecting some urgency into the contest. However, Labyrinth’s lead was again threatened when the visitors scored from a set piece just before half-time, in the 42nd minute, making it 2-2 and setting up a tense finale to the first half.
At the same time as the second goal from the opponents, Ofentse Monau was brought on for Labyrinth, again due to the team starting short-handed. This substitution aimed to reinforce the squad’s depth and energy.
Labyrinth responded immediately before the break, with Bruno Mokgosi restoring their lead in the 45th minute. His goal ensured the home side went into the interval with a slender 3-2 advantage.
The second half saw Labyrinth extend their lead further. At 65 minutes, central midfielder Pule Phosisi found the net, adding a crucial fourth goal to the tally and giving his side a more comfortable cushion.
A tactical substitution followed at 68 minutes, with Karabo Molekwa replacing Gift Manda. This change was made to adjust the team’s shape and maintain control as the match progressed.
Prince Moemi continued to shine, scoring his second goal of the match in the 79th minute to make it 5-2. His clinical finishing and intelligent movement proved decisive throughout the game, earning him the player of the match accolade.
However, the match took a disciplinary turn late on. Pule Phosisi received a yellow card at 81 minutes for dissent by action. This warning was followed by a second yellow card and subsequent red card at 88 minutes, reducing Labyrinth to ten men in the closing stages.
Despite being a man down, Labyrinth held firm to secure a comprehensive 5-2 victory over Super Africans FC. The referee’s flawless performance ensured the game was conducted fairly and smoothly throughout.
Labyrinth’s 3-4-3 formation paid dividends, with the defensive trio providing stability, the midfielders controlling the tempo, and the forwards delivering the goals. Prince Moemi’s brace and the direct corner goal from Tshireletso Nkosi were standout moments in a match that showcased Labyrinth’s attacking prowess and resilience.
