Home cup match played on 28 September 2025.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Lads Club Juniors U12 welcomed Toros Lightning to their home ground on 28 September 2025 for a 9-a-side cup match, kicking off promptly at 10:30am. The hosts produced a commanding performance to secure a 9-1 victory after 60 minutes of play plus added time, much to the delight of the 40 spectators in attendance.

Deploying a 3-4-1 formation, Lads Club Juniors U12 set up with Lucas Price in goal, shielded by a back three of Charlie Arnold at right defender, Archie Rigby centrally, and Charlie Clueit on the left. The midfield quartet featured Musa Touray on the right, Flynn Gething and Charlie Swain centrally, with Chase Bracegirdle operating on the left flank. Thomi Scoular led the line as the lone striker, expected to spearhead attacks and capitalise on chances created by the midfield. The substitutes named were Finn Jones, Oscar Jones, and Zayn Prosser.

The match burst into life almost immediately as Thomi Scoular opened the scoring in the third minute. Flynn Gething’s short pass inside the box found Scoular, who calmly slotted home from close range with his right foot. Scoular then tested the goalkeeper twice in quick succession, first firing wide at five minutes and then seeing a shot saved at six minutes. However, the Juniors doubled their lead immediately after when Charlie Swain struck from close range inside the box, also with his right foot.

Defensively, Charlie Arnold made an important tackle in the seventh minute to halt a Toros Lightning advance, while Charlie Clueit intercepted a pass a few minutes later to maintain pressure on the visitors. Despite a mistimed run that saw Scoular caught offside at ten minutes, the Juniors continued to dominate possession and create opportunities.

Flynn Gething’s attempt was saved at the twelfth minute, and Scoular showed his defensive commitment with a crucial tackle at fourteen minutes. He then delivered a long key pass at fifteen minutes that created a clear chance for the team. The first substitution came at eighteen minutes with Finn Jones replacing Chase Bracegirdle, and Oscar Jones coming on for Scoular, signalling a tactical refresh early in the match.

Oscar Jones immediately made an impact, forcing a save at twenty minutes, though Musa Touray was caught offside at twenty-one minutes due to good defending by the opposition. Charlie Swain and Musa Touray combined well with key passes at twenty-two and twenty-three minutes respectively, setting up further attacking chances. Attempts by Finn Jones and Archie Rigby went high over the bar in the following minutes.

Toros Lightning managed to pull a goal back at twenty-five minutes with a well-struck effort from just outside the box, following a good through ball.

Despite this, the Juniors kept their composure and continued to press forward. Oscar Jones had another shot saved at twenty-nine minutes before half-time was called at thirty minutes.

The second half saw a flurry of substitutions, with Chase Bracegirdle, Thomi Scoular, and Zayn Prosser all returning to the field while Musa Touray, Flynn Gething, and Charlie Clueit made way. Notably, Lucas Price swapped positions with Chase Bracegirdle, an unusual move giving both players some minutes in different positions.

Finn Jones provided a long key pass at thirty-three minutes that created a chance, and Charlie Arnold’s attempt went just wide. Zayn Prosser scored at thirty-four minutes, finishing inside the box from a short cross by Lucas Price. Thomi Scoular came close to adding more goals with a shot that hit the post and the follow up saved in an unorthodox fashion.

Further chances went wide for Finn Jones and Oscar Jones, but the Juniors’ dominance was clear. Zayn Prosser’s long pass and Charlie Clueit’s interception at thirty-eight minutes kept the team on the front foot. Scoular’s long pass at thirty-nine minutes set up Charlie Arnold to score from a good team move, assisted by Zayn Prosser’s short pass.

Zayn Prosser continued to create chances with a slide rule pass at forty-one minutes, while Finn Jones’ attempt went wide. Substitutions continued with Oscar Jones and Flynn Gething returning to the pitch at forty-two minutes, replacing Scoular and Finn Jones respectively. Oscar Jones tested the goalkeeper again at forty-three and forty-nine minutes, both shots saved.

Charlie Swain added to the tally with a goal inside the box at the fiftieth minute, extending the lead further. Shortly after, Musa Touray and Thomi Scoular returned to the field, replacing Flynn Gething and Charlie Clueit. Touray’s attempt went wide at fifty-one minutes, but the team’s attacking threat remained relentless.

Lucas Price made a crucial dive at the feet of an opponent at fifty-five minutes, helping to maintain the clean sheet. Oscar Jones had another shot saved in the same minute, but Scoular finally found the net again from close range with his right foot. Finn Jones replaced Oscar Jones at fifty-six minutes, and two minutes later Scoular scored once more to get his hat trick, this time assisted by Finn Jones with a cross.

Charlie Arnold had a wide attempt at fifty-eight minutes before Lucas Price made a vital tackle at fifty-nine minutes. Thomi Scoular added a fourth goal from his long through ball that the keeper mis timed the kick to find it in the back of the net, rounding off a remarkable individual display. An injury to Lucas Price saw Oscar Jones return to the pitch for the final minute of normal time.

Zayn Prosser’s shot was saved at sixty-one minutes, but Musa Touray sealed the emphatic victory with a goal from well outside the box, blasting home with his right foot. The final scoreline of 9-1 reflected Lads Club Juniors U12’s dominance and clinical finishing throughout the contest eventhough they made it look harder than it was. ??
