Away cup match played on 19 October 2008.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Free scoring classics started the 1st round of the Surrey Cup in confident mood after keeping three clean sheets in their last four games and scoring and averaging of four goals a game, the only thing that was guaranteed was we were going to score against a tough tackling Croydon Postal side but oh don’t we like making simple things difficult for ourselves.

The score was never going to be in question but at times we are like a person who owns a car driving on the motoway in second gear not realising if you use the other available gears, the journey will be much smoother and less frustrating.

Putting the game to bed was the order of the day and we all know it’s difficult to motivate ourselves sometimes, but with complacency comes destruction as you only ever play within your comfort zone and sooner or later, one of these teams will ask a lot more questions of Classics and it will be interesting to see how we respond.

But turning away from being a kill joy, a four nil win is a result you would take at the beginning of the day but for some reason it still doesn't feel right.

Goals from Glenroy McCalla (2) Papi & Ray eased us into the second round but even with our dominance, Mark Joseph still had to make a couple of one on one saves to keep our clean sheet run intact.

I would love to say how great we played and continue writing about the game but with a very poor second half for our standards, I feel like it has just kicked the life out of me as just going through the motions is something I’ve never been accustomed to and that’s exactly what we did the second half.

Do the basics well and everything will fit into place but at times you could equate our performance to a jigsaw puzzle with some of the pieces missing.

To end on a good note, i don't normally single out players but Anthony Millanaise ran his heart out today as he felt he didn't do himself justice last week. Well he sure did himself justice this week and for me, that type of spirits is what you need to be cosidered a player as we can all kick a ball, but how many of us will reflect on our performance and vouch to improve the following week and actually put that reflection into action?
