London Cup second round against our fierce rivals Livingston FC. Taking into consideration from last week the players were well focussed for the task ahead, you could sense in the air that this was going to be a battle royal between two teams that have a lot of respect for each other. Only one thing was missing from this game and that was a decent ref who understood the rules of the game and wasn’t driven mad by power, in other terms he is the biggest dick head you are likely to come across on any given football match anywhere within the UK and I’ve played a few games around the place and this dickhead beats any ref I’ve encountered hands down!!!

For the ref to be a talking point of such an important game it makes me wonder who assess these referee’s and give them the status to officiate these big games. You would normally get these types of refs if we were playing an all white team somewhere in the sticks but to have a dickhead like him officiating a game like this in South London against two black teams makes me wonder why we are paying our money to the FA just to be continually slapped in our face with a wet fish? But enough of that and i must commend my players on their performance facing unfair and difficult circumstances. For the other team and their supporters to say the ref was a dickhead speaks volume with itself.

To go into the match in full detail will be hard as so much happened in this game that both teams can take a lot of credit from but with the game going into extra time after it being 2-2 @ full time Lambeth were confident of coming out victorious after we had two good chances to win the game in normal time. On another day those opportunities would had been buried in the back of the net but it wasn’t to be so and that’s how football goes.

After battling with minds and wills, Lambeth Classics went down to ten men and even then we did well to stay in the game and maybe could had nicked a goal but the odds were stacked against us with the ref and playing with ten men Livingston went on to score a well disputed third goal and a very unlucky own goal, but what i learnt from this performance is we have a squad of soldiers and individuals who will battle to the final whistle regardless what is put before them and for me i am happy to be apart of that any day of the week.
