Away league match played on 27 August 2013.
Kicked off at 7:45 PM

On paper this was always going to be a tough encounter for Town but with the return of Sean Ramkissoon and Chris Jelly to the starting line-up there was some optimism before the game.

Nomads were very fast out of the blocks and in truth could have been 3 up inside the first 10 minutes. Town were struggling to come to terms with the new formation and were taking time to settle into their new roles. The score remained at 0-0 thanks to some outstanding goalkeeping from Henry Smith who made at least 2 point blank saves. After the 15 minute mark Town began to adapt and took control of the game in impressive fashion. The midfield 3 of S.Ramkissoon, Silk and Mcdade dominated the middle of the park whilst the 3 in front of them Hardy, Jelly and Aubrey didn’t give Nomads back line a moment’s peace. For the first time this season both full backs of Lawlor and A.Ramkissoon were getting forward and causing all sorts of problems out wide. Hardy will be disappointed not to have scored with 3 golden opportunities when put clean through but was unable to convert. Jelly had an effort over the top. A.Ramkissoon met a corner perfectly only to head over the bar. It was all one way traffic for the last half an hour of the first half but yet again Town had been guilty of not converting chances. HT AN 0-0 LTFC.

The second half began as the first had ended with Town in complete control although not as many chances as the first half, probably the best chance of the game fell to Aubrey. Another neat passing move saw Jelly released down the right hand side whose low cross was met by Aubrey 4 yards out but with the goal at his mercy he put his effort wide. So once again with Town dominating they then conceded. A low cross from the right was only half cleared by Parry and the Nomads centre forward cracked home the loose ball. 1-0. Town came surging forward again determined not to lose another game they had dominated. Within 10 minutes they were level when a drop of the shoulder from Mcdade allowed enough room 20 yards out to volley home into the far corner. 1-1. The game now became end to end and yet again Town were undone by a screamer from the opposition. The ball dropped to Nomads centre forward on the edge of the area and he fired into the roof of the net. Town again went in search of an equaliser but even with the heavy pressure they were unable to fashion anymore clear cut chances. The night was compounded by injuries to Hardy and Proud. Town are being taught a harsh lesson so far this season, we can dominate games and completely outplay teams but in this tough league if you don’t take chances then you will be punished. FT AN 2-1 LTFC.
