Home league match played on 04 January 2015.
Kicked off at 9:30 AM

Maidenhead Crown FC 4 – 1 P.O.B. FC / Division 3 Sunday Morning Thames Valley Football League

Being the first game of 2015 it was nice to start with a home match.

We were up against a very good P.O.B. FC side who had won more than they lost so far this season.

We were missing WARREN EAMES due to injury so JAMES MURDOCH took on the captain’s armband.

We started the game on the front foot and took the game to the opposition, squandering a few early chances.

On 15 mnts the deadlock was broken, a ball over the top was laid back across the box by JAMES MURDOCH and STEVEN EATON finished superbly with an overhead kick, it made very good viewing.

We dropped our levels a little bit and allowed the opposition to dictate, giving away Scilly free kicks in dangerous areas.

Eventually we paid the price for this, a free kick was awarded to them on the right hand side of the pitch and the ball was allowed to bounce in the area before reaching one of their players to shoot and score to make it all even.

It wasn’t deserved but sadly that’s what happens when we dropped our intensity level.

Halftime Score 1-1

Knowing if we played as we know we can for the next 45 mnts we would eventually win the game. We did exactly that.

On the 55th mnt a great ball from the middle was headed back across the box by MATTHEW HILLIER for STEVEN EATON to score his 2nd goal of the match with A great volley in the top corner from around 10 yards out.

We continued to press but on the 70th mnt we had goalkeeper RYAN DUNN to thank after stopping a goal bound effort when the forward ran in behind our back line.

On the 75th mnt we ended the game as a contest, a lovely floated ball from DAVID BUTLER was brilliantly headed home by winger KENNY EATON.

On the 80th mnt, man of the match STEVEN EATON scored his 3rd goal by slotting the ball round the keeper with another good finish after a great ball by JAMES MURDOCH.

A well deserved 3 points in the end.

P.O.B. FC are not an easy team to beat and this result is deff to be taken notice off, not many team will do what we did to them a credit goes to them for that.

This is our 4th straight victory which is the best run we’ve been on all season, may it continue.

We are in cup action this weekend when we welcome DIV 5 outfit SLOUGH EAGLES to desborough park.
