I must admit i was in too minds if to go to this game. Having lost 6-0 in the cup and not knowing what sort of team is turning up when the game changed from Shavington to the Northwich's new 4G pitch i questioned myself.

How wrong was i. Big turn out from Dendy squad. The starting 11 to my surprise would have been mine. Dendy scored first after a silly challenge on Danny by the Crewe player was awarded a penalty kick. The ever reliable Ian scored even if it wasn't one of his best. The Crewe team pushed and pushed for most of the half hitting the bar on more then one occasion. They made it count just before the half after a Crewe player dribbled through the centre of the Dendy defence and for once no block or challenge was made.

So a disappoining goal to concede just before the half. To be honest it was no more then Crewe Deserved.

H.T 1-1

The second half started with Crewe carrying on from the first half pushed forward with some nice passing and closing down. Sadly the winning goal came from a Dendy mistake. Giving a cheap goal away by over playing at the back and having it robbed and put away past Perry. Dendy tried hard to get back into the game with some nice passing of their own. The woodwork and the goalkeeper keeping Dendy from scoring. I didn't think we quite looked dangerous enough up front until Tommy Wake came back on. Crewe looked happy to hear the final whistle as Dendy tried everything to get the point to the end.

Final 2-1

Thoughts of the day

Decent squad turnout. With quality. A performance that would have given most of the league a tough game. Without Tommy up front we still lack a goal scorer. Another great effort from the defence. All four having a good game and the ever dependable Perry behind. At times the Dendy midfield were out played by a very decent Crewe Midfield. As much as i admired Dendy trying to play football from the back it's a fine edge between when you can and when you risk giving it away and your the last man.

Donkey was Shaun for being late.

Man of the match was Jack for a strong performance at the back. He can also thank his fellow defenders.
