LEAGUE CUP QUARTERS

MARY DENDY'S FORWARD LINE FAR TOO STRONG FOR THE GRANGE.

MARY DENDY 8 THE GRANGE 2

H.T 2-1

What a difference a week makes. Last week i was really disappointed with the result and the performance. This week i was surprised just how well we beat a team higher then us in the league.

I was surprised the game was played after a day of rain on an already soaked pitch. The ref did a full pitch inspection and i think it was just playable. The goal mouths were my concern but it didn't seem to show during the game.

Dendy had a very strong squad today. The front line looked really impressive. The first half was pretty even with both team missing chances to score. On 18 mins Dendy took the lead but it was to be short lived as The Grange equalised on 22 mins. Sloppy finishing from the Grange kept it close until Dendy took the lead on 37 mins.

The second half was all Dendy when more or less every chance ended in a goal. As the game went on the more the Grange looked outplayed and i started to wonder just how many would Dendy score.

Final Score MARY DENDY 8 THE GRANGE 2

Plus sides today

The attack looked awesome. The squad was solid. What really pleased me was we had the luxury to play the subs and give game time to some loyal players.Where as last week good performances were hard to find this week it was impossible to find someone who had not given his best. Jack was an excellent stand in for Perry.

Minus points

As awesome as our front line was today there was still times in the first half when our front four watched the back four and two midfield players to deal with the attacks. Thankfully the Granges poor finishing didn't show it up too much this week. Against the mighty Winford Saxons we will have to get more behind the ball.

Great turn out at the Egerton Arms. Chicken carbanori went down well with the players who like it.

Donkey was for a missed open goal by Jason bless him. He did make up for it by scoring after which pleased me. He went away on a positive. He won the football card too so not too bad an afternoon. I think just pulling on the magic Dendy shirt made him happy.

Man of the match was Little Adam for a busy performance at centre half. I gave my vote to Jack in goals. A selfless act and a strong performance.

Next week we go into the bear pit in Winsford to take on the Saxons. Lets hope we are the Vikings.
