DOWN TO EARTH WITH A BANG

To say i was disappointed is an understatement. The high light of the day was the cheese and onion crisps and a cute barmaid at the pub.

The TARVIN pitch was a nightmare to find but when found it was a nice little set up. A good quality pitch with a nice fence around the pitch. Two little cover areas for the fans and teams to sit in. A set up DENDY can only dream about. They do need better signage to the ground.

MARY DENDY missing some of the players who were so good last week went behind again within the first ten minutes. A ball which should have been put out of play was passed back to Perry back from injury who could only clear it out near to the goal. From this throw in a speculative shot from outside the box looped over Perry and into the top left hand side of the net. MARY DENDY had chances to score even without last weeks goal scorer up front. It was against the run of play when a needless free kick was taken low and without a touch ended up in the bottom right corner of the Mary Dendy goal. It was the ever dangerous Matt who was to get Dendy back in the game with a goal cooly taken just before half time.

HT 2-1

To be honest i thought Dendy would take control in the second half and given the chances Matt would score the goals needed to win. But is was TARVIN who were to play the better football. They were young and fit and seemed more up for it then Dendy. MARY DENDY seemed to struggle to pass and as the game went on fitness problems seemed to take over. With injuries also taking their toll it was another needless free kick given away on 70 mins that was to make it 3-1. A cracking shot dipping with pace that went between Perry's hands and into the top left corner. Mary Dendy were disjointed second half and to be honest TARVIN a team we should have beaten and to be honest would have last week deserved it.

PLUS POINTS

New Centre back Jack played really well on his second half debut.
We know we have some decent players on the books. Sadly due to other commitments we can't always get them.

MINUS POINTS

Not being able to give Matt the service he showed last week given he will score goals. At times second half he look frustrated with the poor passes and became guilty of trying to do it on his own.

Not being able to do the simple things in defence. Dendy were too often guilty of not putting it out when required and passing straight to the attackers. It's ok playing football when its working but there are times when clearing your lines and the long ball have their place.

We could have and should have won this fixture. It showed without some players we will struggle in games. We will play teams a lot better then Tarvin and unless we get a settled team we will have more disappointing days.

Injuries to the quality right back Scott, Danny getting a nasty looking shoulder injury. Paul,s knee going late on. Perry's ankle playing up on his first game back.

Man of the match was Curbo just taking it from new guy Jack.

Donkey was Spruce for having an off day (note i did not vote for you sprucie i still feel the love.
