Mathare United Women FC secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Barcelona SC in a gripping league encounter at the MYSA Headquarters on 30 March 2025, with kick-off at midday. The match showcased the resilience and tactical prowess of the home side, who managed to hold off a late charge from their opponents to claim all three points.
Mathare United set up in a 4-4-1-1 formation, designed to provide a solid defensive base while allowing for quick transitions into attack. Olive Otwaro donned the gloves as the goalkeeper, shielded by a back four comprising Brenda Atieno on the right, Nestley Nanjala and Marline Atieno in central defence, and Dora Achieng on the left.
