Away league match played on 29 September 2018.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

Moorside travelled to tintwistle for the first ever meeting between the 2 sides with a real point to prove after suffering back to back defeats, tintwistle on the other hand were in a rich vein of form having won their last 2 games, the pitch was probably the best we've played on and the pre match preparation was good. Right from the off moorside were intent on putting in a performance and early on were awarded a free-kick on the left edge of the box, bardo whipped in the ball only for it to agonisingly rebound off the far upright and Reece dalton was unfortunate to head the loose ball wide, reece hughes then had a good strike at goal but it was too near the keeper, next it was woodys turn to hit the post as he got played into a 1 on 1, paul shot over after some good build up play. Bardo then got played thru and forced a great save from the home side keeper, Alex then some how managed to retrieve the loose ball and had another snap shot on the turn which the keeper again saved, moorside were playing some great football and an unfamiliar midfield were bossing the game with Charlie and the 2 Reece' s keeping good shape and helping out at both ends where required. Moorsides constant pressure soon payed off as woody opened his account with a low strike past the keepers left, soon after bardo made one if his trademark runs down the left side and shot from a tight angle, both paul and a defender followed the ball with Paul getting the final touch to make it 2-0. 22 minutes in and moorside were forced into a change as Callum seddon twisted his knee and had to be replaced by liam with Charlie going to cover at right back, that didnt stop him being involved tho as he kept up his intensity and seemed to be everywhere without neglecting his defensive duties. The next goal was a belter as Paul caught bardos throw in on the half volley sweet as anything and fired into the top corner. Moorside were playing some brilliant football and were rarely threatened at the back with the odd opportunity being easily dealt with by the back 4, with half time approaching moorside went in search of a 4th to put the game to bed and it was Paul again who got it, a neat thru ball from Saxon put him in a great position to earn his hat-trick which he duly did with a neat finish to the keepers right. Half time All the management could do at half time was to try and ensure the team played with the same intensity and composure as they had showed in the first 45 as it was far an away the best football moorside have played, no changes were made. The second half was just more of the same, Saxon side footed home from close range after some good play from woody 5-0. Todd and harry came on to replace paul and reece hughes with reece dalton and charlie swapping right back and midefeild respectively, Bardo the crossed one in from the left which the defender headed clear only for woody to catch it sweetly on this left and volley home from 18 yards, woodys goal of the day made it 6-0. Man of the match Charlie was next to get his name in the score sheet as he cut in from the left to fire across the keeper to made it 7-0, jack and brandon then came on to replace woody and bardo but the intensity never dropped as the subs knew how well they had to play just to match the lads that had come off, todd went close with a free kick and liam had a good effort saved, brandon then put the ball in the net only for the ref to blow up for offside. jack got the first of his brace with a right foot drive across the keeper from the right hand side before a rare break from the home side got them into a good goal scoring opportunity only for Tom to race back and tackle the striker before he could get his shot off he then played it simple to Saxon who threaded a ball thru for Jack to latch onto, jack rounded the keeper to make it 9-0, it was a simply outstanding performance from moorside today, they didnt give the home side a chance and on another day could have easily had double figures themselves, the midfield kept good shape and worked tirelessly at both ends, the front 3 were a constant threat and linked up very well together and the back 4 dealt with everything that came at them and and were always available when we had to go backwards and start again. Mitch was pretty much a spectator in moorside's goal but again he was always there when needed rushing off his line to clear or help out the defence, the new formation allowed the full backs to get forward more than usual so the goal threat is now available from everywhere. Absolutely top class today lads well done
