Newcastle Benfield Tardini U10 Sunday welcomed Great Park Juniors U10 White to the Newcastle Benfield Juniors U7 Tardini ground on 22 March 2026 for a league home match kicking off at 9:00am. In a lively 7-a-side contest lasting 50 minutes plus added time, Newcastle Benfield Tardini emerged victorious with a commanding 6-2 scoreline.

Deploying a 2-3-1 formation, Newcastle Benfield Tardini set up with Ollie Lattimer in goal, backed by central defenders Oliver Moore and James Rutherford. The midfield trio consisted of Tom Slater on the left, Parker Buglass centrally, and Elias Rowland on the right, tasked with both defensive duties and supporting attacks. Leading the line was striker Alfie Simons, expected to spearhead the offensive efforts. On the bench were substitutes Lewis Coates and Jaxson Medland, ready to impact the game when called upon.

The match burst into life early as Alfie Simons opened the scoring in the 6th minute. Receiving a short pass from central midfielder Parker Buglass, Simons calmly slotted the ball home from close range with his right foot inside the box. This early goal set the tone for Newcastle Benfield’s attacking intent.

Just six minutes later, Simons doubled the lead with a well-executed team move. Tom Slater delivered a beautiful through balll to the striker, who again finished from close range with his right foot, demonstrating clinical composure in front of goal.

Shortly after, a tactical substitution saw Lewis Coates replace James Rutherford in defence at the 14th minute, signalling a slight reshuffle at the back. The momentum remained with Newcastle Benfield as right midfielder Elias Rowland showcased his individual skill by scoring a solo goal in the 15th minute. Rowland’s close-range finish with his right foot highlighted his ability to break forward and contribute decisively.

Five minutes later, Rowland was substituted off for Jaxson Medland, who wasted no time making an impact. In the 23rd minute, Medland tapped in a close-range goal, extending the lead further. However, Great Park Juniors responded immediately with a fluke goal in the 24th minute, halving the deficit and injecting some urgency into the contest.

Newcastle Benfield made another change at the 25th minute, bringing back James Rutherford for central midfielder Parker Buglass as the first half drew to a close. The teams went into the break with Newcastle Benfield holding a 4-1 advantage.

The second half began with Tom Slater making way for Elias Rowland to return on the right wing at the 35th minute, reinforcing the attacking options. Great Park Juniors managed to pull another goal back in the 38th minute, again via a fluke, keeping the scoreline competitive.

Newcastle Benfield responded swiftly as Rowland struck once more in the 40th minute, finishing inside the box with a neat right-footed shot from close range. Shortly after, Oliver Moore was replaced by Parker Buglass in defence at the 41st minute, shoring up the backline for the closing stages.

Elias Rowland completed his hat-trick in the 46th minute with another solo effort, again finishing with his right foot from close range. This goal effectively sealed the match, confirming Newcastle Benfield Tardini’s dominance.

Throughout the match, Ollie Lattimer’s goalkeeping provided a solid foundation, while the defensive duo and midfielders combined well to control the game. The attacking trio, particularly Alfie Simons and Elias Rowland, were pivotal in securing the win.

Elias Rowland’s outstanding performance, marked by three goals and relentless energy on the right flank, earned him the Player of the Match accolade. Newcastle Benfield Tardini’s tactical discipline and clinical finishing ensured a comprehensive 6-2 victory over Great Park Juniors U10 White which got them back to winning ways!
