Away league match played on 20 September 2025.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

On Saturday 20 September 2025, Newhall Rangers Youth U7 Blues travelled to Broxbourne Secondary School to face Hoddesdon Town U7 Panthers in a league away fixture. The 5-a-side match kicked off promptly at 10:00am and saw Newhall Rangers deliver a commanding performance, running out comfortable 13-0 winners after 40 minutes of play plus added time.

Newhall Rangers lined up in a 1-2-1 formation, a setup designed to balance defensive solidity with midfield control and attacking potency. The goalkeeper was tasked with organising the defence and launching quick distribution. Two midfielders took up pivotal roles in both breaking up opposition play and linking defence to attack, while the lone striker was expected to spearhead the offensive efforts and convert chances. The starting lineup featured a goalkeeper, two central midfielders, a central defender, and a striker, each fulfilling their positional duties with discipline and energy.

The referee, whose performance was rated highly, ensured the game flowed smoothly and fairly.

From the outset, Newhall Rangers imposed themselves on the game, controlling possession and pressing Hoddesdon Town relentlessly. Their tactical discipline in the 1-2-1 formation allowed them to dominate the midfield and create numerous scoring opportunities. The central midfielders orchestrated play effectively, feeding the striker with precise passes and supporting defensive duties.

By the 20-minute mark, the referee signalled half time, with Newhall Rangers already well ahead on the scoreboard. The Blues’ attacking threat was relentless, and their defensive organisation meant Hoddesdon Town struggled to mount any meaningful attacks.

Throughout the match, the goalkeeper maintained composure, making crucial saves when called upon and distributing the ball quickly to launch counterattacks. The central defender provided a solid backbone, breaking up opposition moves and supporting the midfielders. The two midfielders were instrumental in controlling the tempo, winning possession, and setting up the striker, who finished with an impressive tally.

The standout performer of the match was Rayan Rayan, whose influence in midfield was pivotal to Newhall Rangers’ dominance. His vision, passing accuracy, and work rate earned him the well-deserved Player of the Match accolade.

In summary, Newhall Rangers Youth U7 Blues delivered a comprehensive and clinical performance away from home, showcasing their tactical understanding and individual skill. Their 13-0 victory over Hoddesdon Town U7 Panthers was a testament to their teamwork, discipline, and attacking prowess in this early season league encounter.

Rayan ???????? Marcel ?????? Cooper ???? Reggie ?? Henry ?? Ryan ?? Own Goal ??

Another dominating performance from the boys which will hopefully see us moved up to play against harder opponents! We can only play who’s in front of us and it’s another clean sheet in the bank, but it will get harder!

REGGIE #2

Another goal in the bank, unlucky not to get any more and a cracking Free Kick that rocked the crossbar/post! Done well at the back in a position he doesn’t usually play.

HENRY #3

Really happy he got his goal, he deserved it after the shift he put in on the left in the 3rd Quarter, his passing today was exceptional, the best I’ve seen from him. He even tried to make a pass when he was 1 on 1 through on the goal ????

RYAN #4

Good battling performance today and another goal to the tally. Also another good quarter in goal and got an assist with quick thinking kicking the ball straight down the middle to set up the goal.

COOPER #5

Another two goals for Coops (albeit one stolen from Henners ??). Good passing from cooper too always looking for a team mate at the right time.

RAYAN #6

Unplayable today for Hoddesdon. Exceptional finishing and terrorised them when playing on the right. The number of balls he put across the goal was outstanding and 4 goals for himself too. Showed GREAT leadership skills also as captain today, took on the roll seriously. Well deserved MOTM.

MARCEL #7

Clinical finishing again today getting a hatrick! Also looked for the pass a couple times which is good to see.

THEO #8

Good quarters in goal and at the back and good vocals calling for the ball when in space. Involved in a couple good passing moves too.

As I said to the boys, the games will get harder pretty soon so we need to keep improving and making the right choices whether it’s time to pass, dribble or shoot and get the balance right but who can complain with two 13 - 0 wins in two league games regardless of the opposition ????
