Away league match played on 21 September 2025.
Kicked off at 9:30 AM

Northfield Town Foundation U10 Lionesses travelled to Redditch United FC on 21st September 2025 for a 9:30am kick-off in a league away fixture. The seven-a-side match lasted 50 minutes plus injury time, with Northfield Town running out convincing 8-2 winners over Redditch United U9 FR GC.

Northfield Town lined up in a 2-3-1 formation, deploying two central defenders, three midfielders across the left, centre and right, and a lone striker up front. Millie Parkes guarded the goal, with Emmie-Rai Bartlam and Georgia Brookes anchoring the defence centrally. The midfield trio consisted of Olivia Hobbis on the left, Elsie Ryder centrally, and Harper Mills on the right. Omie Jai Martin led the line as the striker. This setup was designed to provide defensive solidity through the two centre-backs, midfield control via the three midfielders, and attacking threat from the striker supported by the wide midfielders. Alice Compton was named as the substitute.

The match burst into life early as Northfield took the lead in the 5th minute. Olivia Hobbis delivered a precise assist to Omie Jai Martin, who finished clinically to open the scoring. Seven minutes later, Hobbis doubled the advantage from the penalty spot, calmly converting under pressure. She then added a third for Northfield in the 15th minute, this time assisted by Emmie-Rai Bartlam, showcasing the defenders’ ability to contribute going forward.

At the 18-minute mark, the first substitution saw Alice Compton replace Harper Mills on the right wing, injecting fresh legs into the midfield. However, seven minutes later, Mills was reinstated in place of Olivia Hobbis, signalling tactical adjustments as the half progressed. The first half concluded at 25 minutes with Northfield firmly in control.

The second half began with immediate impact as Omie Jai Martin scored again in the 26th minute, assisted by Elsie Ryder, extending the lead to 4-0. Redditch United responded quickly with a goal of their own a minute later, reducing the deficit to 4-1. Northfield’s attacking momentum continued, with Martin netting her third goal of the match in the 31st minute, again set up by Ryder’s creative play.

Further changes came in the 36th minute when Olivia Hobbis returned to the pitch, replacing Omie Jai Martin. Despite the substitution, Northfield’s dominance did not wane. Harper Mills found the net in the 42nd minute, with a beautiful near side worldie adding a sixth goal for the visitors. Redditch United pulled another goal back in the 44th minute, but Northfield responded swiftly with Hobbis scoring her third goal of the match in the 45th minute, assisted once more by Elsie Ryder.

Shortly after, at 46 minutes, Omie Jai Martin re-entered the fray, replacing Alice Compton. The final scoreline of 8-2 reflected Northfield Town’s attacking prowess and control throughout the match.

Harper Mills was named player of the match for her influential performance on the right flank, contributing both in attack and midfield stability. Northfield Town Foundation U10 Lionesses demonstrated excellent teamwork, tactical awareness and clinical finishing to secure a comprehensive victory away from home.
