Manchester Maccabi 1st 7 - 1 Oakhill
Another spirited performance from oakhill against a top side. Expecting a tough game Oakhill gave as good as they get and even better in the first half. After losing centre back Jack Shulman early on, Sacha Oliver Stoutfilled in at the centre of the defence. Oakhill fell behind early on to a corner headed in by Maccabi but our heads did not drop. The next 30 minutes of the half Oakhill were able to hold off any attack from maccabi and then with 5 minutes left in the first half a freeckick lofted in by Joe Davis was guided in by Marc Maynard for his fourth goal of the season. A deserved goal for a great first half performance by oakhill and we held out 1-1 till half time. The second half was a slightly different story with Maccabi's fitness proving vital to their success but Oakhill gave them a run for their money. Most of their goals coming from corsses attacking a makeshift defence Oakhill were ale to carve open Maccabi a few times and it wasnt just one way traffic. The final score does not tell the whole story. But the team worked themselves to the ground and a performace like that against any team in the league will surely be a dominant one.
