Away cup match played on 25 November 2012.
Kicked off at 10:15 AM

What an awful day to have to play our hardest opponents in the league. Having been beaten on only one occasion; leaving them just one point behind the champions. It was easy to see from the outset that we would have to be on our best today.

Tameside took total control of the game using the serious weather conditions to their advantage.  We struggled to get to grips with the classy opponents and with a cutting pass through the defence they went through to take the lead.

Cammy came off ill after 10 minutes after he kindly attended the game so not to let his team mates down. Fantastic commitment Cammy and please be assured it’s very much appreciated.

Just when I was planning my half time team talk which would congratulate the lads on keeping the score to a respectable level. Jensen won a tackle from the goal keeper’s clearance to pass the ball to the goal machine Harry Wild who placed the ball passed the on-coming keeper with great style. We have worked on ‘H’’s game over the past few weeks and it is now paying off with another outstanding hat trick today.

His 2nd came 2 minutes later with a header from an outstanding cross from a great run down the left wing. Testament to our team ethic is that goals are scored from the entire team and luckily we don’t rely on any one individual player. Half time and amazingly we went in 2 goals to the good especially considering the outstanding defence who worked the offside trap to our frustration.

Unbelievably the weather conditions that should have given us a great advantage changed giving us no help at all. It was a tight exchange in the second half with Tameside yet again gaining control of the game. On one of our few ventures up field a foul was committed giving Ben a 25 yard chance to increase the lead. I superb Beckham style strike cleared both wall and keeper. Fantastic......

Again Tameside hit back to make it 3-2.

Hitman Harry popped up with a header from another great cross that just went over (If it was a game rugby). Although the soon up it behind him to bag to more goals to take it to 5-2 before Tameside kept themselves in it with yet another goal.

Another solid performance at the back with Tom giving us the quality to play the ball from the back. The half time switch with Robbie and Billy worked very well with Billy providing great balls forward that would have created a mass of goals if the opposition had not been so good with the off side trap.

Man of match Jensen was a different class. Although he doesn’t score much it’s only due to his unselfish play that sees him pick a pass to a team mate instead of going for glory. Foot work and vision shown today was a joy to watch.

Great team effort capped with strong performances from Zach, Bailey and the improving Carlos.

Difficult Semi-Final and hope we can continue the winning form against AFC Oldham in the FINAL.... Well done
