MEFF #5: THE WIZARD’S SLEEVES 5 – 0 BOOM BOOM POW:

Last Monday saw the biggest win in MEFF history (so far) as SuBo’s Wizard’s Sleeves used their defensive strengths and some quick counter-attacking to sweep aside Spence’s Boom Boom Pows. As winning Captain, it now falls to SuBo to produce a match report, so he has submitted this lovely ‘goal summary’ – enjoy...

1-0: The Wizard’s Sleeves opened the scoring with a well worked goal between Kieran, Luke and Aidan who caught POWs on the break with some sharp 1-2’s culminating in a composed finish from Aidan high into the empty net.

2-0: Luke was then able to latch onto a Griffin through-ball down the middle, and although the onrushing keeper saved his initial shot, fortune favoured the Sleeves as the ball fell back into the path of Luke who passed it home.

3-0: Luke’s second goal was another counter attack; he picked ball up in middle and played in Kieran down the left and continued his run before Kieran squared it to him to slot home. Textbook.

4-0: The fourth goal saw a Subo assist for Crozier. The ball pinged into Croz’s feet, whose first touch was exemplary, and he then turned, shifted it past the defender and slotted it home past the poorly positioned keeper.

5-0: No-one has solid recollection of what happened for Crozier’s second goal. LOL.

MOM from Pows for the Sleeves was Aidan for a classy midfield performance – an international call up surely isn’t too far away.

MOM from Sleeves for the POWS was Fatty for a sturdy performance and using the ball well at all times.
