MEFF #26 - CALL OF DOODIE 7 – 2 FAT KIDS ALWAYS WIN AT SEESAW:

After an incredibly close first half, in which Daz’s Fat Kids Always Win at SeeSaw took the lead twice, Patto’s Call of Doodie eventually made the most of the space as it opened up due to tired legs in the second half and were ruthless on the counter-attack. Jack excelled as a sweeper for Doodie, while Aidan’s energy helped his team begin attacks from the back later on. Despite the scoreline Fat Kids were dominant in possession for much of the game, with Kieran running the show in the centre and Daz, Griffiths and Ash providing plenty of options on the sides, and Brett and Griffin tidying up behind and Frumpy making a number of excellent low saves. Unfortunately it was the usual story of one team pouring forward to get back into the game, but leaving plenty of opportunities for the counter-attack by the other.

0-1: Ash(Kieran ran through the middle with the ball before laying it wide to Ash on the right, who sauntered into the area and rolled a shot under Phil G, with the ball just eluding the sliding Griffiths who was lurking at the back post to nick the final touch)

1-1: SuBo(a mazy run from Spence ended with his cross/shot being saved by Frumpy, but the loose ball fell to SuBo who whipped it into the net)

1-2:Daz (a simple one-two between Brett and Daz ended with the latter making a clever run away from his marker to finish emphatically into the top right corner)

2-2:Luke (Spence missed a flicked header from Phil G’s long punt, but the ball fell kindly to Luke who chested/armed the ball down under pressure from Ash and Frumpy and finished calmly as he ran clear)

Half Time

3-2:Luke (Jack’s throughball from right-back evaded Griffin and Ash and allowed Luke to calmly roll the ball around Frumpy and finish from a tight angle)

4-2:SuBo (a counter-attack down the right by Aidan ended with him cutting it back to SuBo for another low finish into the bottom right)

5-2:Luke (an elegant chipped through-ball from Spence found Luke who once again rounded Frumpy and finished capably – HAT TRICK)

6-2:Phil G (Patto’s corner, won after a mazy bumper-car run, was guided into the path of Phil G who slapped it into the net from 4 yards)

7-2:Patto (a swift counter-attack ended with Spencer crossing to the back post where Patto half-volleyed into the net)

Men of the Match were Brett, who worked hard in defence to clear all danger, and still proved a threat in the second half despite his injuries, and Luke, who “seems to be everywhere and rarely loses the ball as well as scoring and creating”.
