Hook Panthers 3 v 0 Fleet Spurs Athletico (Goals EHE 3*, MOM MG)... * goal review board sat to determine whether RD shot had crossed the line..Sorry RD.   What a lovely sunny morning, felt a bit of a treat particularly given the recent monsoon.    Hook started off in a fairly calm and relaxed manner, getting their passing going, particularly between back line and midfield. Whilst there was plenty of possession, we had tendency to dwell a little too long on the ball in around the box. To their credit Fleet Spurs also aimed to get the ball down and play, although when push came to shove in the first half they used the er slightly longer pass to attack the back line.   Pep talk at half time was to do much of the same, but make quicker decisions.... We started a lot more sprightly in the second half, often being first to the ball and at times playing some very decisive passing...Goals came as a result, the third was a cracker from EHE. The goals were very much the result of good team work and some clinical throughballs from midfield. The result was a little flattering for us, but that mainly came because Fleet had to chase the game leaving the defense a little light. Nice team Fleet and liked the way they tried to play.   I thought the boys secured the ball better today, better body shape to receive. Communication was excellent, which funnily enough helps quite a bit.   JR - defensive cover was very good, not much was getting past him today. OK - stepped in to intercept quite a few times, shame the passes did not always find the man, but the intent was there. TH - was very calm and passed well, couple of times switched off leaving players unmarked on the penalty spot. EHE - scored the goals, but was more pleased with his passing and awareness of others. We need him to avoid traffic sometimes. ON - received the ball very well today, but did switch off from the game on more than one occasion. MG - Very good carrying of the ball and passing out wide, often looking up for support players. Still needs to work on defensive positioning, but this a new role for him. JC - Battled very well in midfield and often looking to release the attacking players. Needs to avoid waiting for the ball to come to him sometimes.  JF - Looked to step in and then play the ball down the wing a few times. Still has that habit of taking on the attacker even those he is pretty much last man... RE - Couple of very secure saves and very good distribution of the ball. Was a little slow coming for a couple of balls in the box.  RD -  Work rate is second to none and put in a couple very telling passes. Just needed to release the ball a bit quicker on a couple of occasions.

Thank you for the wonderful support today, great turnout..That included George/Richard, who hopefully everyone got to meet.
